(MODERN AU)
Venti ran around the house in socks, sliding on the wooden floors of the one story apartment building (Occasionally falling, yet shaking it off and returning to his original activity's)
Xiao sat unamused at the couch, watching the boy slide left and right. Venti endlessly rambled on about his plants and his flower shop and how the customers are so nice and how everyone adores him at work yada yada.
It was pretty late at night, probably around 11:15 PM on a Friday, so both of them had work and school off on the weekends. After awhile, Venti became sleepy, putting a holt to his sliding, Xiao chuckling a bit.
"You done? Finally tired yourself out?" The shorter boy stood up off the couch and walked over to venti, a small smile on his face.
"I guess..it was fun while it lasted tho!" The braided boy beamed, his voice still energetic.
"I suggest we go to bed, it's pretty late." Xiao sighed, looking directly at venti
"Whyy! It's Friday night! Can't we..*yawn* stay up a little longer..?" Xiao have him a are-you-kidding-me look, causing venti to nervously smile. The dark blue haired boy picked up venti bridal style, carrying him to their shared bedroom.
"X-XIAO! I can walk!!" Venti whined, blowing a raspberry in Xiaos face. He ignored venti's action an continued to walk to the room despite venti's protests
Xiao threw the boy into the bed, him landing with a bounce and a laugh, Xiao also smiling a bit.
He flicked the lights off and also got in bed, but something was off. Where was Venti? Wasn't he in the bed a second ago? Xiao sat up confused, until he saw him, squatting down next to an outlet plugging in a rubber duck nightlight.
"Venti..? What..? Why?" Venti giggled in response.
"When did you even get that?! Why is it a duck!?" Xiao questioned, venti again ignoring his comments and concerns.
"Mr quack is a very special necessity when sleeping Xiao, and he deserves his spot on the wall!" Venti replied, fumbling with the outlet.
Xiao groaned playfully. "You sure you're not just scared of the dark?" He replied with a smirk, venti scoffing.
"Me?! No! I am NOT scared of the dark, you're being ridiculous! And if I was scared of the dark- WHICH I AM NOT. I would've told you! And then if I told you, we'd have a nightlight much sooner!" Venti replied, standing up and heading to the bed knowing damn well, he was scared of the dark.
"Oh sure, whatever you say." Xiao laughed, pulling venti into his arms, their legs tangling with each other.
"Night, scaredy cat." Xiao said sneakily. Before venti could turn around and reply with a snarky comeback, Xiao was already asleep
"You're such a butt Xiao!" Venti giggled, kissing his forehead and eventually drifting of to sleep as well.
