Movies and tv shows are a lie. They make everything seem so cool and fancy, but WHY DOESN'T ANY OF IT WORK IN REAL LIFE?

I groaned in frustration when I couldn't turn the screw to the vent with my thumb nail. "Hollywood is a lie." I kicked the vent then went back to sitting on the makeshift bed of crates.

According to my watch, it was 10am in the morning. I woke up 3 hours ago when the lightbulb hanging above us came back on.

Ji Ae was still sleeping on the crates, her body shivering from the freezing autumn temperature drops during the night. I had already given her my jacket and was now rubbing my arms through my sweater.

No one had come in to torture us yet, but I could hear low voices speaking and laughing when I pressed my ear against the door.

Mommy and daddy should be in Korea soon if they have not already landed.

"Ae..." I shook my twin to wake her up. I probably shouldn't wake her up, but I didn't want her to be asleep when the witch showed up. We can't show weakness. "Ae, wake up."

I touched her cheek to pinch her skin, but reared back by how hot she was. She was burning up.

I pushed away her hair that was covering her face revealing bright red cheeks and furrowed eyebrows. I put a hand on mine and her forehead to compare our temperatures and she definitely had a fever. She nuzzled her head into my hand when she felt how cold it was, her breathing becoming more labored.

Why does she have a fever? Maybe she did get an infection? Or maybe it was because of the ramen the traitor gave us yesterday. I knew that I shouldn't have trusted him.

I ran towards the door and pounded on it. "Help! Let us out please! My sister is sick!" I continuously pounded on the door until I heard footsteps and the door abruptly opened, causing me to fall onto my butt.

"Why are you yelling and making so much noise?" One of the guards snarled at me. "I'll duct tape your mouth shut and beat your ass like Jaesuk should've done last night."

"My sister is sick." I got back up onto my feet. "Please, can you get her some medicine?"

"I don't see how that has anything to do with me."

He turned around to leave then I latched onto his leg. I don't beg. A trait that I got from both mommy and daddy.

"Please. Take her to the hospital. She's going to die!"

The guard looked over to Ji Ae still sleeping on the crates then snorted. "It's just a fever. What does it matter anyways? You're both going to die soon."

"Are you just going to leave a sick kid on her own?!" I argued.

"Look kid." He strongly grabs me by the shoulders and pushes me away. "You probably won't understand because you grew up spoiled, but people like me who didn't grow up with a silver spoon or fancy house will do anything for money. I'm not risking my money just for taking your sister to the hospital because she's got a fever."

That angered me. How people can be so vile and forget their morals just for money. I took a deep breath then fisted my hands properly like how daddy taught me.

"Help! My! Sister!" I punched him but he caught my fist with his hand.

The man only looked down at me with an amused expression on his face. "You call that a punch kid? It's like a mosquito bite." He pulled back his fist. "Should I show you what a real punch should feel like?"
