We ran as far from the crime scene as we could.

Things were going fine until that maid screamed.

"Where are we going to hide? I just wanted some valuables!", I said.

"Shifty, calm down- there! This door is unlocked.", my brother said.

"Quiet!", I said as I shove my brother into the room.

We look a round and saw many snacks and books scattered among blankets and pillows. I look at Lifty and Lifty looks at me, we grin.

Lifty gathered all the blankets we could and I gathered the food. We dumped it in all in a pile.

I took a cup and tossed it in the pile. I then drank out of the teapot until there was no tea left. I may regret that later.

"Come on Shifty, this is all we can carry!", said Lifty.

He lift the blankets of food on his shoulder and ran to the window.

I looked a round to see something yellow and shining under the table. I grinned.

Finally! Something worth money!

I walk up to the shiny object to see that it's a bracelet? It was connected to an.... Arm.....

I look up and met the eyes of the arms owner. We stared for a minute before they tried to scream.

I quickly cover their mouth, sweating.

"Lifty! We got company! The room was not empty!", I said.

I looked at the person and noticed how terrified they were. Before I could think of what to do the sounds of the guards.

I had an idea. I grabbed them and pulled them with me.

"What are you doing?", said Lifty.

"The guards are coming! We need a hostage!", I said as I pushed him out the window with the food.

I pull the stranger to the window. They grab the frame, trying to resist. They screamed for help.

I push them out the window as soon as I heard the guards burst open the door. I follow them out the window.

I'm glad there was a lake under the window, but now the food is ruined.

"Fxck! Wasted!", shouted Lifty as he soaked.

I let go of the hostage's arm so I could ring out my hat. I was no worried since I saw the state of them on the ground shivering.

"We don't have time- let's just go with our hostage in hand.", I said.

Lifty grumbled and walked forward. I looked down and grabbed the hostage's arm to pull them up.

"Come on hostage, you're our guarantee.", I said as I dragged them.

The hostage was crying and screaming for someone to help half way through our trek. We made it to the walls but I couldn't stand the crying anymore.

"Stop crying or I'll leave you in the woods we're no one can find you!", I shouted.

They covered a sniff and quieted their blubbering. Satisfied with that, I turned back a round and continued to drag them a way.

Lifty got over the wall, I shoved the hostage into his arms and they fell onto the other side. I laughed.

I'm sure the guards have the horses and search dogs out looking for us.

I wasn't worried, I knew how to fix that. I have a hideout hidden a few miles from the castle walls with clothes and perfumes ready.

We can take our time, the royal family wouldn't want to worry their guests over whoever the hostage is.

Once we made it to the hideout, I locked the door and finally decided to figure out who the hostage is and how much we could get out of them.
