I rolled my eyes. I didn't really want to go, but I did want to get my mind off things. I figured a bit of partying would get my mind of him.

So I started getting ready.
I decided on wearing a pair of high waisted black denim shorts and a white spaghetti-strap singlet tucked in.
I didn't have time to paint my nails but I put on mascara, eyeliner and lipgloss.
I pulled on a pair of black converse and snuck out the front door.

Jackie was waiting for me in her car outside. She grinned at me when she saw me creeping out of the house, trying not to wake up Mum or Luke.
"Ready to go?" Jackie asked.
"I just want to drink." I stated, looking straight forward.
"I'll take that as a yes." Jackie laughed.

We arrived at the party and as soon as we entered Jackie grabbed my arm and led me to the kitchen.
"Hey, Liam. We got a broken heart and a wing woman here, what would you recommend?" Jackie asked a tall guy with sandy blonde hair.
"Two shots of vodka and a beer each." Liam said, handing us our drinks.
Jackie smiled and thanked him. She handed me my shot.
"One, two-" I downed the shot before she could finish counting down.
"Whoa there, tiger." She laughed.
I snatched my second shot and downed it in two seconds.
"Wow. You do want to forget about him. Here, you can have mine." Jackie said, handing me one of her shots. I nodded, downing that too.
"You're really fucked up, aren't you?" Jackie asked.
"Me? No, I'm fine. I just don't want to remember anymore." I slurred, the alcohol was getting to me.

I wandered off from Jackie and started dancing with a random guy at the party. He was well over six foot, with jet black hair and blue eyes.

He was hot and I was drunk, it was a perfect match.

My ass was to his front, and he had his hands on my hips.
"What's your name, baby?" He asked close to my ear.
"Lee, yours?" I asked.
"Tom." He replied.
I turned around and wrapped my arms around his neck, knowing in my drunk state I could end up regret this. But I didn't care anymore, I just wanted to forget about -

That's when I saw him.

Matty.

He was standing in the doorway, staring at me, with Tom. His dark eyes bored into mine, his face completely unreadable. It was then that I noticed the flawless blonde girl by his side, practically hanging off him. He has his arm around her waist and he occasionally pressed his lips to her neck and whispered something that made her giggle. His stare broke from me and turned to face the girl before him. He brushed her hair back and leaned over to kiss her. It was turning into a make out session when I looked away.
It made my skin crawl to see him with another girl, even though we only spent one night together.

It was only a one night stand,
only a one night stand,
just a one night stand.
It didn't mean anything.

Tears pricked in my eyes but retreated when Matty's eyes were back on me.
I held his gaze for a second longer before turning to Tom and pushing myself onto him, crashing my lips to his. He was surprised at first but immediately kissed back, his hands sliding to my ass. I broke the kiss and let our foreheads rest together.

"Wanna go upstairs?" I asked him. He nodded and I took his hand, leading him away from the packed dance floor to the direction of the stairway. I knew we'd have to pass Matty to get upstairs.

Matty had seen me dancing with Tom, and he'd seen us walking towards the stairs.
I kept Tom's hand in my own as I approached Matty, halfway up the stairs.

I'd gotten past Matty without a drama, but when Tom tried to pass him Matty put his hand out, stopping him.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing, mate?" Matty asked, his voice a low growl.
"I'm going upstairs, do you have a problem with that, 'mate'?" Tom retorted.
"Yeah, I do. You're trying to fuck my girl." Matty seethed. My eyes widened. His girl?

Tom turned to me, shock on his face.
"You have a boyfriend?" He asked.

At the same time the blonde Matty was with turned to him with her jaw dropped.

I glanced at Matty. I shook my head. "No. He's not my boyfriend. Hardly know him." I said, trying to drag Tom by the wrist past Matty.

Tom tried to move past Matty, but Matty grabbed the back of his collar. "I'd leave if I were you, or we could take this outside." Matty growled.

"Uh - I - I gotta go." Tom stuttered, rushing down the stairs and out the door.
Once Tom had left, Matty started walking calmly down the stairs. I followed him, stunned and furious all at the same time.

"What the fuck, Matty!" I screamed at him once we were both outside on the front yard.
Matty just laughed quietly.
"What? What are you laughing at?" I yelled, pushing him. Matty snickered.
"You. Trying to make me jealous. It's cute." He said.
My jaw dropped. "I was not trying to make you jealous!" I shouted. I knew this was a complete lie, but I had just wanted to get away from him.

I was sick of Matty's hot and cold game, one night he'd be a real gentleman, and the next he'd be with another girl. I didn't need his drama in my life.

"You were. But don't worry, it worked." Matty said quietly.
"What?" I asked, shocked.

Matty grabbed my arm and pulled me over to the side of the house where no one was around. It was dark and quiet.
He looked me up and down with nothing but lust in his eyes. He licked his lips.

"You really shouldn't do that to me." He growled.
I raised my eyebrows challengingly. "Why?" I asked.
"Because then I can't stop myself from doing this." Matty said, pinning me up against the side of the house and smashing his lips to mine. His calloused hands slid to my waist and he pushed my hips up against the wall. He kissed me with lust and need and want, his hands roaming my body.

I kissed back greedily, revelling in the attention I was getting from him.

I knew it was wrong.
I knew he was just playing games. But I'd never gotten a second glance from anyone, let alone someone like Matty.

I moaned softly when he dropped his mouth to my neck, nipping and sucking along the way.
"You can't say I was the only one making someone jealous." I whispered.
Matty's smile glinted in front of me.
"So, we were both in the wrong." He muttered with a grin, pushing me up against the wall again. I rolled my eyes and smiled, kissing him again. After a few minutes of making out, Matty's hands drifted to my waist as he tried lifting my shirt.
I broke away from him, pushing him off me.
"No. I can't do this. What happened to this being a one time thing?" I asked him.
"It is." He shrugged.

My heart sank. I had two voices I my head at war with each other.

One voice was logical, screaming:
Of course it was a one time thing, that's all this was. All it'll ever be. It's done now. Just leave.

And the other voice was shouting:
No! You're falling for him, and you need to face up to that. Just stay.

I bit my lip.
"You're right. Just a one time thing." I said quietly, starting to walk away.
