"It's you who need to say the word." Grace walked in, turning everyone's head to her but Aria, as she had expected her arrival. She remained sitting straight and looking at the Director, regaining dominance inside the room and sharing it with Grace.

"Your last trick is worthless. I'm sorry to say that you have lost, Director Supot."

Aria smiled at her junior, who slightly looked at her and nodded. That wasn't Grace. That was a different Grace. The voice in her head told her so.

"How did you get here?" asked the old man.

"I told you. You may beat everything else. But you cannot beat time."

Mysteriously, Aria could hear Grace's footsteps and two breathing patterns from her; the other one was loud and clear while the other wasn't. She could barely hear them, actually, with how faint her footsteps sounded.

But Grace wasn't walking right now. And from the sound of it, it seemed like she was walking elsewhere. Elsewhere, but familiar. "The abandoned building where the Director cured Time."

But how could she hear it? How could she hear Grace walking elsewhere while having her there by their side? Did she have cloning potential?

No. That couldn't be possible. That abandoned building was out of her potential's reach. So the answer to the question remained unsolved.

The confusion wiped her smile. But Aria must focus. That was a crucial time. She could look for the answer once everything was done.

"The virus that you used to develop a new strain released to the students nationwide is not NYX-88. It's an enterovirus that the Ministry synthesised. Their genetic codes are very similar but the severity of the infection is far less. The Gifted who are infected will be ill but not for long. Their bodies will get rid of it eventually. The scientists who were working for you knew this from the beginning but they hid it from you. They were laughing at you behind your back."

The virus... wasn't deadly? Therefore, the virus the Gifted class had, the one Wave and Pang took... they weren't deadly? Therefore, even from the beginning, there was no harm.

As if a big, sharp thorn had been taken out of Aria's heart, she breathed out in relief, but did not let the Director see her current state. They're safe. Wave was safe. Korn got rid of the virus. They're all free. But the fight wasn't over just yet.

"You may have got the authority from the Ministry, but you were stabbed in the back since you started."

The Director breathed out in disbelief. Aria was the witness to how his mind palace crumbled into pieces. With just a few words from a supposed helpless knight, the king realised how everyone had been betraying him from the beginning of his reign. He tried to put back the castle's walls brick by brick. But each one fell as soon as he left them unchecked.

"It's incredible how someone like you would make this simple mistake. As they say, power makes you careless, even for someone like you."

"This is not true! I don't believe you!" The Director never pointed his fingers at anyone. But at times like that, when he was so desperate to regain the castle, he couldn't even notice whatever he was doing.

"You don't need to believe me! You just have to accept that this is the end for you."

"If you're indeed able to go back in time, put NYX-88 back where it's supposed to be!" he demanded with his potential.

But Grace remained smiling so wide that he wanted to wipe it off so badly with a rock. For him, that smile indicated nothing. That didn't mean anything! Hence why his potential would affect her. She would follow his orders and everything would fall back into pieces.
