Bongcha's Pov You saw your friend grow nervous as you panned around the restaurant. You were trying to find the culprit of her emotions, Jangjang never got like that unless she heard something she wasn't supposed to, and that's when you found it... or shall you say them. Right in the corner of the room sat about five people whispering loud enough for you to hear.
"Look it's the new employee from our floor. You know the one that went missing."
"I heard the new employee left yesterday from the 15th floor. She disappeared after lunch hours were over."
"What? How do you know for a fact that was her?"
"One of the securities saw her and the lady with her get on the elevator from the 15th floor. They say she looked drunk and worried."
"You think she met up with Mr. Wong and had a little to much to drink?" They laughed rather loudly. Now Jangmi was looking down moving her hands around the hem of her sleeve.
"I heard she got an office on the 15th floor today, you guys know how hard it is to get that close to Mr. Wong?" One of them continued.
"She must've slept with him there's no way he would move her to work upstairs on her second day."
"Yeah right she's not even Mr. Wong's type." One of them remarked and they all started up laughing again.
You were about to stand up and defend your best friend's name when Jangmi grabbed your hand, signaling you that it wasn't worth the trouble. You huffed and sat back down giving them all deathly glares through your eyebrows. One of the guys amongst them noticed and told them that it was time to go back to work.
Shortly thereafter your best friend let out a breath, one she didn't even know she was holding in.
"It's gonna be okay Jangjang if they say anything at work to you, tell me and I'll do something about it." You clasped her hands into yours smiling to reassure her. What can you say? Reassuring her was your main job as her best friend, well besides making sure she's well fed.
Lunch after that went well you made sure she ate till she couldn't anymore.
"So how did you feel?" You asked hoping she'd catch on to your question about the little creature growing in her tummy.
"Mmm well I feel fine for now. He left me ginger teas in my mini refrigerator, I drank one while I was working." She responded softly grabbing her bag to pay. You got up to pay for you both before she could put up another front.
"Don't worry Jangjang I got you this time, you deserve it." You smiled and walked to the front to pay while she got ready to leave.
Jangmi's Pov You watched Bongcha make small chat with the lady that served you the food. You over heard her ask about pre-paying for a porridge for your dinner.
