*clears throat*

So since this is the first chapter, I would like to dedicate it to my parents

Well my parent's love story isn't all cheesy and filled with flowers but I still like it the most

A bit lengthy though

Both of my maternal and paternal grandpa's were friends since collage. My dad's side is not as good in English as my mother's side. So my dad's dad (let's call him grand-dad) used to come to my mom's dad (let's call him grandpa) to make him type letters. As it was the main means of communication at that time. And grandpa was really strict about studies so he used to call my mum to type the letter as he dictates. Grand-dad was always impressed by grandpa's way- his rules and regulations were like an army family.

My mom -
• 3 siblings
• Aunt then my mom then my uncle

As grandpa was getting old his health was getting worse day by day, and he passed away 2 years before my mom's marriage. Now it was all on my grandma's head to worry about my mom's marriage. My aunt -elder than my mom- was already married. And my mom crossed 30, still unmarried. Which was a big deal at that time.

Meanwhile...

My dad -
• 6 siblings
• 3 sisters and 3 brothers
• and they're alternate (the eldest sister then brother then sister then brother <my dad> then sister then brother)

Ufffff...

Dad's side is a mix of rules and chaos. My dad wanted all of his sister's to get married first. Thoughtful I know. My dad used to like a girl, one of his cousins but...ufffff "the era"...love marriages not allowed so obviously he has to let go.

Even though my grandparents were friends their kids never met each other. Back in days girls were not allowed to go out. So my dad did visit my mom's house but never caught a glimpse of her. Poor dad.

Mom even attended marriages of my aunt's from dad's side, still unaware of each other. A little annoying.

So both sides they were growing old (I don't know how 30 is considered old- it's the perfect age of marriage for me.......maybe it's the era lol) and my grand-dad has already choosen my mom. So basically an arranged marriage.

35 38 when my parent's got married on 26 November, 2004.

Both my parent's have imperfections but together they are perfect.

My dad hides his feelings whereas my mom could care less. He's the physical support and she's the emotional support.

He never showed his love openly but I know mom and family is his first priority.

They were always around each other but unaware of each other, even knew about each other's existence, still never thought they would be each other's forever.

My dad has not given a lot of gifts to my mom but there's a list I can tell. My dad was the one to make first move. Started with knowing each other, to fall for each other.

That's it!!!

...

I wanna come home to roses
And dirty little notes on post-its
And when my hair starts turning grey
He'll say I'm like fine wine, better with age
I guess I learned it from my parents
That true love starts with friendship
A kiss on the forehead, a date night
Faking apology after a fight
I need a man whose patient and kind
Get's out of the car and holds the door
I wanna slow dance in the living room like
We're 18 at senior prom and grow
Old with someone who makes me feel young
I need a man who loves me like
My father loves my mom
