I just want to clarify, as there has been a bit of confusion.
Sunny getting kidnapped wasn't in the original game, but I added it in here for a bit more lore.

Let's rewind time a bit.
Back to when Sunny first discovered his quirk.
At the park near Sunny's house, a five year old Sunny and six year old Mari held hands, swinging them back and fourth. Their mother walked next to them, lovingly watching after her children. Before they left the house, Mari had begged to go to the park, and Sunny was just dragged along for the ride.
Like usual.
As they arrived, Mari immediately headed towards the trees with the intention of climbing them. Sunny lingered near his mom. Noticing his discomfort, his mother smiled and sat at a nearby bench, patting the seat besides her. Sunny sat down and accepted the snack his mom offered him. He opened the box and pulled out a chocolate covered stick. "Focky..." He tried to read the name of the treat aloud. The name sounded a bit off...
"It says 'Pocky', dear." His mom chuckled as she pointed to the first letter. "See?" Sunny 'oh-ed' and bit a small portion of the top off, savouring the chocolate and humming in delight. His mom sneakily reached into the box and snatched a stick, shoving it into her mouth before Sunny could say otherwise. "What? You can't share with your mom? I bought that for you, boo." She snickered, lightly ruffling his hair. "Mom..." Sunny whined.
Sunny hurried to finish his Pocky. "I'm wanna play with Riri." Sunny said. 'Riri' was how Sunny referred to Mari as a toddler, but it stuck around.
Sunny got off the bench and headed towards the trees. He had looked around for a while, but couldn't see Mari. He did find another kid, but they were doing some weird stuff for a seven year old (around 7, anyway??). I mean, not every 7 year old child draws the star of David on the ground in squirrel blood (the bodies were besides them), surrounds it with candles, and chants random words. It sounded similar to a song Sunny heard a group of teenagers listening to while walking to the park...
Where was Mari?
"Riri?" He called out, but he didn't hear a thing. In fact, the only obvious people in the park where Sunny and his mom, who seemed to have noticed Mari's sudden dissapearance as well. She turned to Sunny, a bit of anxiety on her face.
"H-hey, Sunny. Do you know where your sister is?" Sunny shook his head. "...Fuck." He heard her curse under her breath. "Mama! That's not nice!" He crossed his arms and puffed out his cheeks while giving a dissaproving look. His mom chuckled. "Sorry, Sunny. Go look for your sister, and I'll call for help." She said while holding up her phone. "Stay in the park. Got it?" Sunny nodded eagerly, running off before a single word could be said.
He neared the entrance of the park, only to stop when...
"H-Hey! Let me go!" ...Mari?
"Shut up, brat! Stop struggling!"
"!!!"
Mari's voice became muffled. In a panic, Sunny ran out of the park, not bothering to remember his mom's warning's of leaving the park.
He ran up to the two strangers, who wore black masks and outfits, and ran into the one holding Mari. Not expecting the sudden shove, the man tumbled to the side, letting go of Mari in the process.
"Riri?" "Sunny! What are you-" Before Mari could finish, she stared at the guy who was on the ground. "Wha...Huh?!"
He had gotten up, staring at Sunny with an unreadable expression. "You...You-!"
Before he said anything else, he lunged at Sunny, holding a knife high above his head. Sunny, unfortunately, didn't manage to dodge, and the man was on top of him. Luckily, the knife only nicked the top of his ear.
"G-Get off of him, you creep!" Mari tried kicking the man, but was shoved to the side haphazardly. She let out a little yelp and fell.
...
What's this?
...
For the first time, Sunny used his Quirk.
Omori stared hatefully at the stranger, raising his hands up. No weapon...the next best option would be his hands...
Not caring what Sunny would think, Omori clawed at the man's eyes mercilessly, sinking his nails deep and pulling them back out, removing some portions of the eye. The man jumped back, dropped the knife, and clutched his injuries, screaming out a string of curses and cries.
Omori picked up the knife, about to stab the man, when...
Arms wrapped around his torso.
"Wait! Stop! Please!" Mari's spoke through stiffled sobs. "You're too kind, but...just..."
...The rest was a blur.
The man got arrested, and Sunny was let off the hook. Apparently, the stranger didn't commit any crimes beforehand, and had no obvious motive to commit the crime. He was locked up for good.
However, no one left unscarred.
Sunny's mom loathed herself for not being there, but thankfully, still took good care of her family. No more kidnapping incedents happened to Mari, but she had developed anxiety around strangers.
As for Sunny...
He finally realized how Quirks were both necessary for to survive in this world and the bane of mankind's existence.
