Sitting in the kitchen as a convict sentenced to the electric chair, I waited for my siblings to show up. I was eating my nails while staring at the windows for any possible escapes if Mandy entered with a loaded machine gun.

I knew from the beginning that lying was a horrible idea, but I never thought about this, ever. Come on, I thought that the odds were in my favor not the other way around. Seems like I'm not always right.

As my mind kept rambling about the injustices of life, the front door shut close and I started to hyperventilate. Okay, what now? I really want to live, have children and know what was going to happen between Jackson and April in Grey’s Anatomy.

I stood up and walked out the kitchen, the silence was murderous. I trailed the way down the corridor and entered the living room, inspecting my surroundings. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, the furniture was the same, also the Tv was located in its habitual spot and the paintings  were in the same place.

Well, at least I can stop worrying about Mandy throwing things at me, right? If she wanted to throw things at me she would have done it by now . Seriously, where the hell are they? I know for sure that both are in the house because Drew’s bike is parked in the garage and I'd already had one terrifying encounter with my big sister.

I was getting worried and anxious, there was still no sound coming from upstairs. It was obvious that the twins weren’t in the house. Just then, I heard a sound coming from the backyard, when I entered the backyard Drew and Mandy were sitting around the plastic tables we only used in special events, such as birthdays. They were having breakfast, and it looked and smelled awesome. There was scrambled eggs, french toasts, turkey bacon, oatmeal, homemade biscuits with fat free butter. The food looked like taken out from a catalog, it all was decorated beautifully and smelled delicious.

“Ava!” I heard Drew call my name. I glare at him and he was actually waving at me with big smile on his face.

What the hell?

“Ava! Come here!” he yelled at me, a smile still plastered on his face, meanwhile Mandy pushed a biscuit full of butter inside her mouth. I did as he said and walked toward them, Mandy was not glaring at me, nor acknowledging my existence at all.

“Have a sit,” said Drew smiling . I did as he ordered with a raised eyebrow while he served me scramble eggs, bacon and butter biscuits. When he gave me the plate full of delicious food I stared at him suspiciously.

What the hell? Why was he acting so not ape? I was expecting some yelling, crying and finally a dungeon with spiders and water fluctuations, not this.

“What’s wrong?” he asked me as I glared at him suspiciously. “Aren’t you hungry? I thought you liked butter biscuits” he asked tilting his head to the side with a concerned expression.

Okay, something is definitely wrong.

“I do like butter biscuits, in fact the food looks amazing…the thing is… amm… Is this my last meal? ” I asked glaring at Drew who was about to eat a mouthful of eggs before he bursted laughing. Mandy even smirked at my comment.

"Ava, do you think we are going to harm you?” he asked with a humorous smile in his face.

“Erhm…you want me to answer that question?” I asked scratching the back of my head. Drew’s smile grew wider as he grabbed another butter biscuit.

“Sheesh…little sister you are very weird, now eat your food before it gets cold” he said shaking his head. All this time Mandy was staring at her plate with a severe face. Any symptom of sympathy was now gone.

She is pissed, really pissed; but for some weird reason my brother isn’t a bit angry, in fact he looked strangely pleased. I thought that yesterday she said  he was furious and I pictured the body of a dragon with Drew’s head spilling flames and eating little innocent bunnies that were dancing in the valley of rainbow ladybugs.
