At the café
Maya's Point of View
"Woah," the three of us said at the same time.
The café was small, but had ample seating. The colors and decor were bright and vibrant, but cozy. They had a collection of gnome statues that continued to grow and is kitsch without seeming cluttered.
"It's beautiful here... we need to come here often..." I said as my eyes never left the view. I want to stay here forever.
I looked over at the counter to see the waiters. They were well-trained, cared about their jobs, and clearly had a strong sense of community.
"Harry!" I turned around to see Charlotte running towards Harry. "He's just a friend my ass," Bella said under her breath as she crossed her arms. I chuckled. "Let her be Bells. She is in love," Bella only scoffed and followed me as I made my way towards Lottie and Harry.
We sat in a small booth away from the others. "Hey Harry," me and Bella greeted him. He waved his hand and smiled at us. "Hello."
"Alright, who wants to join me to order our drinks?" I said and clapped my hands. Bella took her phone out, pretending she didn't hear me. I rolled my eyes. Of course, lazy asses.
"Thank you May," without turning around I showed them my middle finger.
Bella always orders an Americano. It stretches out her enjoyment. Charlotte a double of espresso. She has to drink it fairly quick or it will go cold. I never really weigh in on coffee because from personal experience I know that discussions about coffee are incredibly frustrating. Bella always says that if people think you think you know more than they do then you're a snob, but if they think you know less than them then you're uninformed. You can't really win.
Bella and Lottie are obsessed with caffeine and then there's me with my sweet hot chocolate.
I walked up to the counter already seeing a waiter. He stood with his back turned to me. "Excuse me," I asked the tall brown-haired guy who was most likely around my age. As the guy turned around, he smiled softy. His features were soft and his eyes were a bright brown color.
"Uh, I would like to order an americano, a double espresso and a hot chocolate," I found myself stammering.
"The americano and espresso with or without milk," he asked softly. He seemed to be very careful of his words and his gaze held an intimacy with it.
"Americano without and espresso with please," I answered with a smile. I felt strangely comfortable with him. Something about how he smiled made me feel at ease.
"Anything else for you, beautiful?" He asked all of a sudden and leaned in towards me. "No, thank you," I mumbled blushing.
I quickly paid for our drinks. "I'll be back with your order," he winked at me and left. My face was burning at this point.
I sat back beside Bella and took my phone out. "What took you so long?" Bella asked me. "There was a long line," Bella only shrugged her shoulders and went back to her phone, probably texting Zayn.
I looked around our table, Bella was on her phone and Lottie and Harry were engaged in a deep conversation. The café was quite busy, but it's beautiful here. I can imagine coming here often.
My phone vibrated in my hands bringing me back to reality. My face dropped and reality hit me as soon as I saw who texted me.
