"I'll see you soon farfalla."

"Bye,"

Hanging up my phone I look up only to see Alina's face with a judging look.

"What," I snapped.

Rolling her eyes at my attitude Alina replied, "what's going on with you and this Romeo? Look, you two made me gag with your cute conversation on your way home from the hospital four days ago. But now every time you two talk you end the conversation pissed."

After being discharged from the hospital the first call I made was to Enzo. I missed him-I missed him so much. All I wanted was to be in his arms and for him to tell me that it's gonna be okay. I just wanted to go home, and this isn't my home anymore he is.

As much as I wanted to tell him everything that was going on I couldn't not yet. And that's one of the reasons why every time I end the conversation with him, I'm in a shit mood. I feel like he and I are in such a good place where we genuinely let each other in to share the burden of the big things.

I finally found the person that I know could drag me to hell and back, but I would feel OK because I would do it with him by my side. But right now, we don't know who we can trust. And I wouldn't be able to live with myself if Enzo ended up getting hurt because someone linked the two of us together.

He knows something is wrong God, he knows me so well. Yet he's not pushing me to tell him he's trusting me that when the time is right, I'll let him all in.

It just sucks because I'm all the way in with Enzo. But because of the stupid mafia life just temporarily I can't let him in not all the way but it's just for safety.

"I just wish I could tell him what's going on. He has this way of making me feel safe and protected. I know it sounds stupid and that's it's not actually possible, but when he tells me it's gonna be ok, I believe him."

Raising her eyebrows at me as her response, I continued.

"It also doesn't help that he's going through some tough stuff with his dad's business," I shrug.

Putting the report that she was working on down, she questions, "what do you mean?"

Putting my fingers to my temple I let out a long sigh before answering, " Enzo has some daddy issues. He wants to make his dad proud because he thinks he never did that growing up. So now he has a really big problem with saying no to him. And from what he told me his dad has been pressuring him to do something that he really doesn't want to do."

Looking at me with her signature cold emotionless face Alina gave me a slight nod telling me to continue.

"I don't know what it is I want to ask but I feel like a hypocrite because I'm not telling him what's going on. So I have to tell myself he'll tell me what it is when he's ready. But whatever it is he's just doing it for his dad and he's gonna regret it."
