Inseong walked in the kitchen "sorry for the inconvenience but this is a serious matter, my lord"

"What is going on, Inseong?"

Beomgyu had a feeling that it was not good at all, he could feel a somewhat sour smell in the air, without a doubt that smell belonged to his captain Sungoh.

"It's Sungoh, he wanted to storm in here just to challenge your beloved to a duel, my lord, but I blocked his way in here. He is very angry and does not want to listen to anyone that tells him otherwise"

"Sungoh wants to challenge me to a fight, I had a feeling, Beomgyu, I told you before" Beomgyu looked at Yeonjun feeling somewhat down, he never thought that Sungoh had an attraction for him since he was not the type to show his emotions or his interest to others.  Now Beomgyu felt a little guilty because if he had noticed earlier they wouldn't be in this life and death situation.

The duels were no joke, when a duel was accepted it was known that one of the two would end up losing, unconscious or even worse; dead.  Yeonjun got up from his seat and fixed his clothes in front of both men, not caring much about the eyes on him.

"Let him know that I accept the duel"

"You may go now Inseong, and thank you for your loyalty." Inseong bowed at him and quickly left the room.

"Are you sure about it?  You can still decline the offer." Beomgyu got up after him and hugged Yeonjun from behind.

"Do you believe I'm going to lose? I am your alpha and my duty is to take care of you, my love" Yeonjun turned and clasped Beomgyu's face in his hands, kissing his lips gently before leaving the room, making his way to the back of the huge cabin.  Out there was Sungoh, waiting for him with the rest of the vampires.

Sungoh walked up to them, well he actually walked up to Beomgyu, looking right at him.  Yeonjun let the man touch his mate, being surprised by how calm he was when he saw the other getting closer than he was supposed to.  Beomgyu also allowed himself to be touched by him, the man looked at him as if trying to find something through his eyes but Beomgyu couldn't look him at the eyes, he felt hurt by Sungoh's actions "why are you doing this Sungoh, I never expected a betrayal from you "

Sungoh looked away, laughing bitterly "I think I partly understand why you think it's a betrayal, I never showed you my feelings, I chose to hide them because I didn't think you would fall for a pathetic shapeshifter.  If I had known, I would have been honest with you long ago."

"Why don't you just accept it that my beloved is Yeonjun?"

"Because it's not, I can't accept that the king's beloved is a miserable shapeshifter, you deserve someone better than him" Sungoh brought one of his hands to Beomgyu's face, right in the area where Yeonjun's hands had caressed earlier.  Yeonjun's wolf howled asking to get out, his fangs descending showing his clear displeasure, but he didn't have to interfere as Beomgyu grabbed Sungoh's hand and violently pushed it away from his face.

"Then I hope you are ready to lose because my alpha will win this battle." Beomgyu went to Yeonjun and stood at his side supporting him.

Yeonjun felt the scent of his younger brother and one of his betas, they were close and it didn't take them long to appear when they smelled the imposing scent of the alpha.

Yeonjun shifted , letting his wolf out, the two wolves walked up to him.

"You're going to fight a vampire and you didn't even tell us?  Have you lost your mind, alpha?"

"If we hadn't been close, you would have been alone next to a pack of vampires"

"It happened so suddenly that I didn't have time to tell you through our family bond"

"Stupid Alpha"

"Shut up and go to my mate, I want you to see me win" Yeonjun growled and they did as ordered, standing next to the vampire king, who gave them a slight glance and a nod at the sight of members of his alpha's pack present at the duel.

"Start whenever you want, pup." Sungoh smirked as he showed his sharp claws to Yeonjun.

"As you wish mediocre vampire" Yeonjun was not stupid, he clearly knew that Sungoh wanted to provoke him into attacking him just to leave his defense open, but he would not give him the pleasure of getting away with it.

Yeonjun approached him avoiding his claws that went to his head and neck, he tried to bite him but he couldn't succeed so he changed strategy, this time he stayed still for a few seconds so that Sungoh could attack him and when he did he dodged his attack and he buried his fangs in his wrist, clenching his jaw until he heard the vampire sob and try to break free but Yeonjun didn't take pity on him and continued until he heard a noise coming from the man's hand when breaking his bone.  The vampire fell to the ground holding his injured arm, Yeonjun took advantage of his carelessness and headbutted him, throwing him against the trees, causing him to hit the ground hard, then he positioned himself on top and with one of his legs he stopped his good arm to immobilize him while this time he attacked his neck with his fangs.

The vampire tried to resist but to no avail, his blood spilled all over his chest, staining the ground, the snout and part of Yeonjun's fur.

Sungoh let out a painful scream, in his eyes there was reflected terror and forgiveness for him to release him but all this was his fault, for getting in the way of their relationship, for saying that the alpha did not deserve Beomgyu and now he was showing him that he was worthy to be a pack leader and alpha to the vampire king.

Yeonjun finally released him when he felt no more resistance against him, he took one last look at him, the man was covered in his own blood but he wasn't dead, at least not yet, just unconscious.

He walked away from the body while the vampire king gave orders "take the traitor away from here, I want his head chopped off and the remaining parts thrown away"

"Very well, my lord" Inseong left with the rest of vampires, while Beomgyu watched them leave with Sungoh's unconscious body .
