Chapter 5

Mercy was discharged,she went back to her husbands house only to meet him soaked in alcohol and with a woman,they were both naked on her matrimonial bed,she cried,it was the height of it,she couldn't stand it anymore,she couldn't take it,memories of how she met Jim came to her,Memories of their wedding vows came to her,it was for better for worse,till death do us part,she was bittered,the pains came deep,the sight she saw before her was painful,he didn't care if his wife was dead,he brought another woman to her matrimonial home,to her bed,he defiled it,everything marriage stood for,he defiled it.

"I'm sorry babe,I wouldn't do it next time,I don't know what came over me,I'm so sorry I slapped you,it wouldn't happen again" Jim pleaded,that was roughly six years ago,the first time Jim raised his hands on her

"How dare you go out without my permission?" Jim asked
"I have work to do at the office"Mercy replied innocently," Mercy you're going no where" Jim stated,dragging her car keys from her," what do you mean by this Jim,I can't take this nonsense,what's this,I've been quiet for so long,Give me my keys now" Mercy replied angrily, " wait,did you just call me nonsense,I'll show you what nonsense is" Jim said as he beat up Mercy for the first time,she landed in the hospital where she was discharged and she went straight to her apartment,he came there with friends and a saxophonist and many other gifts to plead with her,this was two weeks to their wedding

The flash backs became too much for Mercy to bear,she recalled the day they fought and she left the house angrily only to come back and was greeted with a woman's underwear in the sitting room,which started another heated argument,three days to their wedding... "Juliet was right,I should have walked out a long time ago,I should have left this no good marriage the instance he laid his hands on me" Mercy muttered with hot tears. She ran off to her car and drove straight to her best friend's house for safety.
