"She lost the baby" the doctor said,stating his observation to Juliet, "we can't discharge her today,we'll need to watch her for a while" Doctor Philip continued.
"Why are you crying?" Mercy asked, "you've been my best friend since 8,we've been best friends for the past 18 years, I know you so well to be strong,courageous and not care about what people said,I was proud of you,I admired my strong best friend who always stands up for herself,never allowed herself to be bullied or intimidated, Mercy Olamilekan Itunu would stand and fight for herself,she would do the right thing,your fathers name suit you so well you know unlike Mercy Araigbe Jimmy, I hope you're happy now,you lost your three weeks old pregnancy to a killer,when would you leave him,when Mercy" Juliet cried,she couldn't imagine the thoughts of losing her best friend to a murderer," you won't understand,you're not married so you can't know" Mercy replied slowly facing a direction different from Juliet, " I don't need to be married to be happy,I don't need to be married to live my life to the fullest,to achieve my dreams,I don't need to be married to stay alive,Mercy I don't need to be married to have kids" Juliet stated. "How would they look at me,how would the society see me,like a woman who can't keep a home,a loosed woman wanting freedom,what would they refer me as,a divorcee,a single mother,the church,how would the church see me,how would they look at me and my children,the society,the church they'll look down on us,how would we survive,Jim stopped me from working since Jammy was born,on one occasion he was angry he burnt my credentials,how would I cope" Mercy cried "he said I should wait,I should pray,pastor said I shouldn't leave my marriage for anything,he said its a test of faith and it's for me to conquer the devil,he said this storm would pass" Mercy continued.
"What! Has your pastor seeing you recently,you look pale,thin,sick,this hell of a marriage is affecting you Mercy,forget what the society would say,forget what people would say,I'm here,you have your family who would support you,you'll change environment,church,Mercy please" Juliet cried "The kids miss you,they want their mom,you can't go back to them looking like this Mercy, please walk away,its not too late,I'll support you,there are lots of people that'll support you,that'll draw from your strength to leave"Juliet continued talking and crying in between.. Her friend was in a pathetic and sorry situation.
