Lola's POV
It has been a week since she last saw Samuel and made any plans but she couldn't blame him. She had been out of the country for business and she couldn't force him to follow her everywhere she went. She had almost forgotten. The key word here 'almost forgotten' her promise to come to Tinuke's wedding until she had received a call from her mother reminding her. She had just two weeks now and she had no idea what her boyfriend was like. Also he had no idea what she was like.
Immediately she dropped the phone, she called Samuel.
"Hello, I think we need to make plans," she said.
Samuel sighed, "Good evening to you too. I thought you just came back."
She nodded, "I just did but I don't think we have worked on anything to convince my mother we are dating. She just called on me to remind me of my promise."
Another sigh from his end, "So what do you suggest we do."
If Lola was thankful for anything. It was her smart brain and the ability to find solution to lots of difficult problems. Not that the particular problem was difficult, "Let's live together."
"What!" he shouted. Lola couldn't help it but smile, if Racheal wasn't a prove of his manhood, she would have concluded he was impotent.
"Let's live together. That's the only way we can get to know a lot about each other within a few days and also not neglect our jobs."
She was still talking with Samuel when Laura walked in. Laura went straight to the refrigerator and got herself a cold drink.
"I think your place is also wonderful and also because of Racheal," She said, trying to ignore Laura's behaviour. She spoke more to Samuel, bricking about where to stay and how soon they needed to stay together. Samuel asked for it to be put off for one more week, but Lola insisted the sooner the better. She also claimed that there was so many wonderful things to know about her.
"What was that all about?" Laura asked even before she could put her phone down.
Lola was too happy to comment on Laura's obviously bad behaviour. "We decided to be a live-in couple."
"Really, babe. I am so happy for you," she said, smiling before she suddenly started frowning.
"What's wrong?" Nothing was tinting her happiness.
"It's just that, I feel like you are giving too much for this fake relationship. I don't want you to be hurt."
Lola nodded, "Yes, I know but look on the positive side of the story. What if this is my chance at finding love? I have two weeks to live with him and convince him."
Laura took another sip from her drink, "Babe, it doesn't work that way. You can't marry someone who doesn't love you."
Lola raised her brows, "Coming from you, babe, that's rich. You know the way we were. It's just about the look for me and the money for you."
Laura's lips set in a thin line, "Looks is not the important thing to check in a relationship. Sure, it's great if a man is attractive but I think look is just a minor factor."
Something was wrong. Lola could feel it and smell it. Laura was not herself. She expected more from her than just pop up and start preaching about true love. Laura wasn't the type to preach love. They were not teenagers, so they knew that love doesn't exist in any way. It's mutual understanding between the couple that matters.
"Lau, let's be honest with ourselves. You know you can tell me anything. What's wrong?"
Laura shook her head, "Nothing is wrong."
