Samuel's POV
The ride was thrilling. It had been a long time since he had driven that way. He is driving carelessly and throwing his cares to the wind. That had been a long time when he hadn't known the word debt, betrayal and hadn't grown to know that anything could happen within any minute but now he knew. Yet, somehow the woman beside him had brought out the man he had tried to cover.
"So, we lost him. What next?"
She was thinking. A low humming sound vibrated from her throat and he wished he could swallow the sound. He shook his head, he shouldn't be thinking of her in that way. This was a business deal and he wasn't going to mess it up
He won't get attracted to her. He had vowed to devote his time and love to Racheal and that's what he was going to do.
She stopped humming, "We already decided to go to the mall."
He shook his head, "After what just happened, I don't think we should go to the mall."
He had a feeling there was something going on. Something was definitely wrong and he would make sure to find out what but her safety was the most important thing. Not with the note, he received at the office and now someone was following them.
"But we already lost the person."
"I know but it's better to be safe than to be sorry, " he insisted. "How about we go somewhere private where no one would see us?"
He parked his car so that they could make a decision. Lola wore a frown on her face, and he stared at her because she looked beautiful with a frown just like she did with a smile. She could wear any emotion and remain beautiful.
"The whole point of this date is for us to make our relationship public. How will we do that if we avoid the public?"
"But someone just followed our car and we have no idea if we have completely lost the person."
"Everything is a risk. We need to follow our plan."
"Okay," he said and continued driving to the location. They were both silent. Samuel had no idea what was going on in her head but he was bothered about the note and the person who followed them.
Was it because of Lola or was it because of him? He needed to know what was happening.
"You are tapping on the steering. Do you care to share your thoughts?
He shook his head, "It's nothing. I am fine."
She gave him a tight smile which he returned.
Soon, they were at the mall and it was obvious that people were staring at them and talking. Some were bold enough to bring out their phones to take their picture. Samuel placed his hand on her shoulder, pulling her face closer to avoid her face showing in most of the pictures.
"I thought you said you are not some sort of celebrity. Why are people taking our pictures?" he whispered.
Lola smiled, "It might be because we make a good couple."
He scoffed, "I say we go back to the car before someone is bolder and comes closer to us."
She sighed, "I agree but I am hungry."
Samuel stirred her back to the car while he went back to get them something to eat. Lola was on her phone when he got back and she had a serious look on her face.
"What's wrong?"
Her response was to show him the screen of her phone. There was a picture of them both on Instagram with the caption, 'Billionaire Lola Makinde sight with her new boyfriend at a shopping mall'.
