I held Jennie's hand as we sat by their fancy dinner table, waiting for our parents to settle down at their seats. This time, I wasn't nervous and felt very comfortable with everyone around the table. I smiled before looking to my left, Jennie. She looked quite distracted.
"Jen, what's wrong?" I asked almost whispering
"You think our parents will agree? I mean, this is a huge decision for us as well as for them" Jennie looked back right at me
"I'm sure they will understand" I squeezed her hand for assuranceI hope they do
"It's been a while, Jennie and Y/n" Mrs.Kim called
"How about we eat first and talk, sounds good?" Mrs. Kim addedWe all agreed to eat dinner first

I put down my glass after drinking and started finding the words I should say
"So uhm, Jennie and I have been meaning to say something" I started catching everyone's attention
"What is it about?" Mr. Kim asked
"It's actually about the marriage, this may freak you out but, we want to take things slow, right now" I dropped the bomb, changing the mood for the night
"Be honest, don't you like each other?" Mom asked
"Aniyo, Eomma. We are super happy about our relationship right now" I clarified
"It's just that, this arranged marriage is going so fast and we can't keep up. We would like to take our time and know each other more than we do" I explained
"On the brighter side, maybe we would end up loving each other more than we do right now, and by then. We can't be separated anymore and get married" Jennie added making the worried faces of our parents change into genuine happinessOur parents started looking at each other and talking but inaudible for Jennie and me. They nodded at each other before continuing the conversation with us.
"You guys are right. We were pushing you guys to this marriage too quickly. I support your decision and will always be here, rooting for your relationship" Dad agreed
"Us too, you're both grownups, you can decide in your mature way. We will always be happy for you, no matter what happens" Mrs. Kim spoke while Mr. Kim nods
"Enjoy your lives while you're still young. No one's stopping you here" Mom smiled and nodded
"Thank you for your understanding. We would not be here if it weren't for our loving parents" I mentioned

The Next Day
I was cooking dinner when I heard the doorbell rang in our apartment
"I'll get it" Jennie said from the laundry room
I heard a small chatter for a while and after a moment, Jennie closed the door
"Who was it?" I asked out of curiosity
"It was your mom. She said, you might've forgotten to get your old stuff from your house" Jennie put down a box and my guitar case
"I told her, I won't take back my guitar" I clicked my tongue and washed my hands before going next to her
"You got a lot of good stuff here. Recording tapes, a camera, and a journal?" Jennie looked through the box
"How did Eomma find these things?" I closed the box immediately and took it away from Jennie
"You throw it away then if you don't need it" Jennie sternly suggested
"I'll throw it away at the right time. Probably not now" I put down the box in the corner of the living room
"I'm going out for grocery, watch Ennie for a while" I took the car keys
"Arasseo, Have a safe drive, Love you" Jennie replies
"Love you too"
