Arid awoke in a strange place, still dreaming. He looked around, but couldn't see anything but the expansive void. A talon of light extended down from no point of origin, and a mysterious voice spoke to him... "Please, help... where you are going, there will be danger, and I ask for your help in preventing it... please, you are the only one I can turn to." Arid hesitated. Was this not just a dream...? "What would helping you require?" He asked, hoping for an answer. "I simply require you to stop one dragon... if the fates are aligned correctly, he will be your clawmate- although from there, the future is shrouded in uncertainty. I ask once more- will you help me, and possibly save dragonkind?" Arid paused, debating his options. it might be risky, but- wouldn't it be worth it? Wait- this is just his dream- right? If he declined, there was a chance it would mean nothing... In the end, he made his decision- "Yes. I will help you." He reached forward to accept it, and somehow his talon phased through it. The talon retracted, and the voice said "Thank you..." before fading away, and Arid awoke for real this time. Forgetting about his strange dream, he turned towards Jade Mountain, and set off, as one of the students for the new Jade Mountain Academy.
