A sudden squeak emitted when Yoongi's trainer messily hit the studio floor. His knees bent oddly as he lost his footing through the quick turn and he stumbled sideways. He sighed audibly to signal his annoyance and threw his hands in the air. This was the third time he'd fallen out of line this afternoon, it was starting to get a little tiresome now. In the studio there was a distinctive, wet heat lingering in the air that you could almost reach out and grab, it was irritatingly clinging to Yoongi's skin, only amplifying the annoyance he was feeling.
It was 7:00pm already and the whole group had been practicing all day, tried and aching, they were about ready to reach their limits. Since he had lost his place in the routine, Yoongi stood still to the side for a few moments with his hands on his hips, waiting for a point where he could jump back in safely. He hated himself for falling out of sync and letting the group dance down, but the tiredness in his legs was not letting up now. Today's dance rehearsal had been relentless and tough, and it was evident that he wasn't the only one feeling it. He watched the rest of the team dance with weary eyes and rolled his neck around.
One member in particular caught his attention, his fluid hip movements drawing his eyes in.
The start of their European stadium tour was now only days away. And with the big departure day looming, the group were trying to put in as many hours of rehearsal as they could fit. There were big expectations from them all; this would be their first European tour since before their year break. The excitement was so real for them, but they also realised the amount of work they needed to put in to get back up to scratch. Whilst it was true that none of them had spent the last year doing absolutely nothing, it had been a much-needed break from the intensity of their careers, physically and mentally.
Away from their fans, the absolute lifeblood of their profession, they had lived a completely different way, finding new hobbies and taking time to recoup. True, they had still had each other to lean on still, but the fans really were the crutch of their beings. A lot of questions had occupied all their minds lately... Would their fans still love them? Could they still work well as a team on tour? Were they even still the same people...? Who knew. The announcement of their European comeback tour had been met with such an insane amount of publicity and expectation, they had a lot of work to schedule.
Safe to say their emotions were shot as they danced hard through this final practice session on home soil. Their minds were struggling to pull their weary bodies through, but since their routines were still so carefully memorised, the dance continued.
At the other end of the formation, Jungkook was watching his team move in the huge wall mirrors in front of them. Sweat was pouring down his face, neck and back, soaking his hair and t-shirt through. He was so uncomfortable but he knew he had to push on. Even though he knew the dance moves and formations by heart, the lack of true group practice together over the past year had left him somewhat pensive. He was intent on working even harder to get his body and mind back to full strength as quickly as he could and today's constant pushing had meant he'd almost reached his edge.
As Jungkook blinked moisture away, he noticed his elder bandmate stood to the side of the room, hands on hips. Concern hit him, he hadn't seen Yoongi leave the formation and he momentarily wondered if everything was all right. The other man looked worn out, especially stood there trying to catch his breath and with soaking wet clothes. He noted that Yoongi was staring right towards him, almost as if his eyes were boring into his soul. Jungkook carried on, noting the worry and love he felt for his friend, but his thoughts were soon cut off.
"Okay guys, let's finish this song and stop," the studio manager suddenly clapped his hands to draw attention. "Your choreography is... good. Let's wrap up, it's late now."
