The shrill beeping of an alarm shot through Jungkook's head like a hot knife through butter. A few thoughts initially rushed jaggedly through his head, wondering where he was, why his body hurt so much and why he was so warm. As the beeping continued to sound, he cracked open an eye to notice he was still in bed in the hotel, the curtain covering the window was open slightly letting in soft beams of rising sunlight.
With an audible groan he swashed his arms around under the duvet to try and find his mobile phone. Failing to locate it, he realised he was going to need to move a bit further and with a little more effort. He rubbed sleep away from his eyes and opened them fully, blinking a few times as they adjusted to the dim light. A quick look around and he realised he was actually not in his own hotel room. This one was definitely the wrong way around compared to his and had a different coloured décor. He was also alone, with no sign of anyone else. What the hell had happened last night?
Jungkook turned his head and heard a phone ringing and buzzing away on the bedside table, next to a very neatly placed glass of water and a box of pain killers. He grabbed for the phone, which he realised was thankfully his own, and immediately turned off the alarm off. The time on his brightly lit screen read 7:05am and made his eyes squint painfully. With another sigh he laid sideways on the bed in defeat and tried to bring back his memories of last night.
He remembered arriving at the hotel and being shown to his room, texting Yoongi and then coming to see him. From that point onwards, he only recalled drinking. An obscene amount, that is to say, followed by some heated arguments about what was the best film ever created. Jungkook had argued that it was his favourite superhero film, and Yoongi chose to disagree, maintaining that music was better than films any day. He vaguely recollected some childish arm punching, laughing and play fighting, which explained a soreness in the sides of his ribs.
'So, am I still in Yoongi's room?' Jungkook mused, 'I don't remember getting into bed...'
A slight turn of his head towards the floor showed Jungkook that he was in fact correct, evident by the unknown suitcase and clothes piled there, including a pair of blue coloured Gucci trainers that Yoongi frequently wore.
For a few minutes, he started to wonder what they had talked about last night, aside from film choices. His head was buzzing inside and all he could remember was muddled actions. Was it possible that he had said something that made Yoongi leave in a hurry this morning? There had to be a reason he wasn't still here in the same room, right?
Perhaps he was overthinking it, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he might have drunkenly confessed how he felt, making Yoongi shy away. Even though he knew that Yoongi's defences were coming down for him, he didn't want to risk the progress they had made over the past week. He was very aware of the fact their feelings had been moving quickly, perhaps more quickly than would be expected, but he wasn't able to help that with the burning longing that had been encompassing him. All that he was able to focus on right now was exploring the desire he was feeling, had he perhaps been too selfish?
Well, that aside, what he needed to focus on right now was shifting this terrible headache. He let out a muffled groan and managed to sit himself up in bed, his day-old clothes were clinging to his hot skin making him feel very much in need of a shower and freshen up. He did a double take and his eyes re-settled on the well-placed glass of water and painkillers on the bedside table next to him. He knew they wouldn't have been there yesterday, they were too neatly positioned, and he realised that Yoongi must have left it for him. He was incredibly grateful as he swallowed the tablets and downed the glass of water in one fell swoop.
At that same time, his mobile phone beeped again, signalling an incoming message. Jungkook was surprised to see it was from Yoongi himself, coming through as if thinking of him had manifested the message.
