(Draco)

This was either going to work very, very well. Or it was going to be a shit-show.

That single sentence might have been able to describe drake's life until this point this far, but this time it really was a possibility that Hermione was going to kill him.

For one, he wasn't giving her any warning; something she wholeheartedly hated.

He had packed the bag for her (something else that would infuriate her endlessly), but in his effort to keep her birthday getaway a complete secret, he had deemed it complete necessary. Draco was priding himself for the fact that he had been able keep this from her for so long. It wasn't that he wanted to keep it a secret from her, it was more along the lines the he was fairly certain that she would refuse if he asked permission.

Therefore, for the fast month and a half, Draco had been secretly planning a trip to Sicily for Hermione's birthday.

The location was easy to pick, she'd once let it slip how much she'd like to travel to Italy, her father had claimed his mother, her grandmother was born and raised there before moving to England with her young family.

Sicily was an easy choice because it allowed for a peaceful beach scene, but the Portkey's he'd secured would let them sight see around the country. That had been a struggle as well, as it turned out, Sicily was an autonomous subdistrict of the Italian Magical Ministry, securing multiple international Portkey's was a less than stellar experience.

After securing the villa and the Portkey's, Draco then had to plan how he would get Hermione to a) been non the wiser until the very moment he chose, and b)actually agree once the cat was out of the bag

"A" was secured, my some miracle, with with help of Potter and his Aunt Andromeda. Potter came up with some story about bringing Hermione to a muggle pub for her birthday to keep her off of Draco's tail about plans. And currently his Aunt was at the cottage, staying over to watch Leo and Scorpius for the  next four days.

Hermione was blissfully aware at work at the moment, and that's where "B" was happening in less than an hour.

His and her's bags were packed and waiting at the Floo Andromeda was settled in the guest room, and Draco was ready to Floo to surprise Hermione at the Library. He'd contacted her boss on her behalf with his plan, and the older librarian had actually been fairly receptive, commenting on his witch's work ethic and that she deserved a break.

The only barrier was Hermione's reaction.

"Daddy!" Leo came running in, arms held wide, and Scorpius wobbling one is feet behind him. Carefully, Draco kneeled down, ready to catch Leo impact.

As expected, his elder son had gained far too much momentum for his little body to stop running on its own. Leo crashed into Draco, arms lung wide to wrap around his neck, and with so much force that Draco was thankful he had been braced on one knee.

"Oh buddy you made daddy lose his breath" Draco joked, but Leo's face turned downwards, clearly worried about his father's state after taking the words literally.

"Daddy no! I'm sorry, You can fix it right? You'll get your breath back because you are a magic doctor, right?" Leo asked his questions hurriedly. The little boy mimicking how his parents acted whenever he injured himself on the playground. Both small hands were on his father face, one palm resting on each cheek, and his eyes were scanning his father's face quickly and worriedly.
