The sudden clinking of metal woke her up. "Who are you? What do you want", she enquired to the dark hooded figure as her hands trembled in apprehension. Before she could scream a rag was tied around her mouth depriving her of breath as well as a last chance for help. Her fight to escape ended fruitless as he was way more stronger than her. As the sinister stranger bound her with red ropes the moonlight through the windows highlighted the raging eyes of the intruder. Eyes filled with hatred, revenge and a hint of enjoyment.
The hwando clattered as he busied himself drawing a black pentagram on the floor. The tied up victim no longer struggled to become free as the effects of opium kicked in. After lighting the lantern he mumbled incoherent words which seemed like some sort of spells. He slashed her throat , blood gushing out colouring her dangui in crimson.
The hwando was then used to pluck out her eye balls and separate her tongue. A pentagram was carved on her wrist as blood splattered on her hanbok. He proceeded to outline the pentagram on the floor with her blood. The mutilated corpse was then hanged upside down making the maidan ominous sight to behold. The fonts written in her blood swayed by her side along with her norigae :
"As the sun goes down and the darkness prevails,
I shall remove the weeds and banes
For I am the omniscient power
and they shall reap what they sow"
The hooded figure retreated humming a tune, seemingly giddy of his works into the darkness of the night.

Next morning in the Donggung
As the maidswere waiting outside the crown prince's chamber, one of them whispered, "Isn't this your first day as his highness's maid?". "It is and I have heard rumors of how harsh his highness is. I'm scared if I might make an inconvenience his highness despises". "His highness is a rare jade. As cold as ice but a lustrous and heavenly sight.", the former replied.
Suddenly the doors opened revealing the crown prince. His gonryongpo fluttered the blue accentuating his fairness, the well groomed hair highlighted his lofty forehead. His chiseled face , sharp jaw line and well built physique made commoners swoon. The sajoryongbo flaunting his positionand his gaze demanding respect, He is Park Jungkook ,the crown prince of Dangwang.
Jungkook strode to the Gangnyeongjeon Hall ,his eunuch and maids following behind closely.Halted by whispers he stood gazing at the two maids cleaning the pavilion. "Did you hear the rumor? The maidwho went missing a few days ago was found hanging. They say that her face was disfigured and her body had begun to rot. The whole room had blood stench", said a maid. "Is it true? She was a caring lady ,who would do such an horrendous act to an innocent maid, the latter exclaimed unaware of the crown prince listening to them.
"Have you no shame to talk of such affairs before his highness", the sukyu reprimanded them.
"Forgive us your highness".
Jungkook said with a hardened gaze , "Repeat your mistakes and I shall not be lenient next time". As he walked away everyone shivered in fear.No one knew the real prince behind the facade.

Norigae - (노리개) is a typical, traditional accessory that is hung from a woman's (coat strings) or chima (skirt) and so on. The norigae also served to distinguish social ranks and social status.
Donggung- Eastern palace where the crown prince resides.
Jimil nains -they were the closest servants who waited and served the king and the queen, plus protecting them from any harm.
Gonryongpo ,sajoryongbo- Gonryongpo is worn by the reigning king, the crown prince, and the first son of the crown prince (future crown prince).The blue gonryongpo is worn by the crown prince along with sajoryongbo (사조룡보), a four-toed dragon emblem.
Gangnyeongjeon Hall - is a building used as the king's main residing quarters.
Sukyu- theyhad the authority to enforce discipline among the ladies working in the Eastern Palace, and also responsible for maintaining the documents and records there.
