With confident steps Jungkook strode inside ,his head held high and his gaze demanding respect.
"Greetings your Majesty, greetings your Royal Highness", he bowed to the King and the Queen. "Rise my son, I heard that you fell ill. Your health always seems to worry me. How do you feel now?", the king enquired. Before he could reply the queen said, "As the crown prince his highness's health should be an utmost priority, I wonder why Lady Park Ui Bin is slacking off on her duties as a mother."
Sensing the mockery in her words Jungkook replied, "My health is alright your majesty ,I'm sorry to have worried you. I'm touched that her royal highness is so invested in my well being."
"It's a mother's intuition my prince, I always pray and hope for your well being", the glint in her eyes was noticed by the king who seemed pleased with her. "That is enough greetings. I hope you aren't slacking off on your duties my son. As I've always said ,the people and the kingdom comes first. Our troubles should never come in the way of our responsibilities. You may leave now."
"Yes your majesty."
Outside Jungkook met a very anxious Jimin who was panting as if he had run for his life. Their eyes met in silent agreement as they walked quickly back to the Eastern Palace.

Jimin's POV
As soon as I heard the news of the maid's death I rushed to meet Jungkook. Before I could reach him he was already inside to greet his majesty. Him being alone with the vicious Queen and the King made me even more anxious.
Inside Jungkook's chamber
"Jungkook, the-the maid ....she's dead", I panted.
"Hyung, take a breath. Calm down", Jungkook said.
I inhaled and exhaled trying to calm my shaky breath.
"The maid ,she's dead Gguk. I personally checked the scene, it was horrendous. There was a pentagram on the floor ,the corpse was mutilated. All of it seemed like some sort of ritual. Do you think someone knows about our investigation? She was the first piece of our puzzle. She was our key to know about what actually happened 19 years ago."
I was confused by Jungkook's lack of response. "Someone's here", he whispered signing to the shadow by the door. As I looked I could see the shadow gradually retreating.
"What do we do now? It's a dead end Gguk.",I said watching him pace around.
"Someone's watching our moves. Whoever it is I feel like they don't want us to know the truth. We'll have to be more careful from now on Hyung."
I nodded to his words.
"Don't worry Gguk, we'll find the one who's behind all this. I have posted a few trusted guards there."
"Find that mole in my palace and get rid of it. Walls have ears remember it next time. And hyung, please be careful, I can't lose you", he said with a softness in his eyes. This is something I admire about him, despite everything he's gone through he still has that shine in his eyes, the same bambi eyes I saw when I was 11.
"Hyung, you should go and see what's happening at the scene ,since the maid is dead our next option is the healer who took care of Lady Jeon Hwa-Young. Since he left the palace 19 years ago it'll be difficult to locate him but we have to find him."
I nodded to his words, seeing him squinting his eyes in pain made me worried.
"Gguk are you okay? This headache of yours is concerning, should I call the Royal physician?"
"No hyung, it's just a mild headache probably because of stress. Don't worry ,just go."
As I was walking ,I saw one of my trusted guards approaching me. I signaled him to meet me alone in my chambers.
"Did you find any clues Bon-Hwa? Was there anyone suspicious?"
"Your highness ,the body has already been taken to the famous physician of the captial, Min Yoongi. The time of death was around midnight, the victim was killed by someone who is left- handed and really good at using a sword or a hwando. According to the physician the pentagram carved on her wrist was deep enough to rupture the radial arteries, even though the mutilation was for the ritual but it looks like the killer did it for revenge. What's even more surprising is the writing with blood. The cloth used is a type of silk that's available to Royals and noble families."
"Everything you said is rather intriguing because it seems like the killer purposefully left clues for us. Did you find anything else there?"
"Your highness I found this at the scene. I took it as it might help us find the killer's identity", he said handing me a purple bracelet.
"You may leave now", as he left my eyes were fixed on the purple bracelet, one that is so close to my heart. Each bead reminds me of bittersweet memories, all with my Gguk. Confusion as well as anger swirled in my mind.
"Why would he lie to me?"
