It was the first relatively exciting thing that happened since I escaped, besides the lizard things of course.

Kong was walking away from the fire and he looked tired.

This couldn't have been the lizard thingies.

Unless they learned how to make fire, which was unlikely.

Worried, I flew over to Kong, as I did so I saw things on the ground and smoke coming directly from them, I flew to fast and was unable to see what they were.

Kong noticed me and turned his head as I flew next to him, "What happened?" I asked him, it looked like his arm had been injured by something sharp, really sharp.

He signed 'Attack'.

"Should I inspect?" I asked him, kinda hoping he'd say no but knowing I would stumble upon it anyway and my curiosity would take over, so I might as well.

He grunted with a nod and I took it as a yes.

Ok then let's get started I guess.

I flew over to my 'Home', which was really just a bed and a make shift kitchen where I stayed if I wasn't with the Iwis and Hank which was never, I don't know why I had it at this point.

I had lots of these around the island, but this one was closest to where Kong stayed, so I guess I stay there when I fall asleep with him.

On my way there I spotted some human people walking along the river in a neat row.

There were six of them.

They all had guns, all except two.

One at the back holding what looked like a brief case and one in the middle holding a camera.

The one in front looked to be the most calm in this situation, all of them to where calm in fact.

If they saw Kong, which they definitely did he's hard to miss, they should be at least a bit freaked out.

I saw a Buffalo, that was in the water move, they all looked startled and made noises of surprise and probably fear.

"Nobody move," the one in front says, "Easy," he had his gun ready but not raised, none of them had it raised actually.

Well, one of them did have their gun raised, I was ready to attack before another, the one in front, slowly reached out to lower their gun, "Slivko," they spoke softly as if they was trying not to frighten him, but to calm him down.

"Slivko, put it down," they said as they slowly wrapped their hand around it and lowered it.

The one with the camera took a picture, looking at it curiously, after that the Buffalo turned and left, them watching it.

I was now curious, were they the people that caused the fires?

They continued walking and I silently followed them, until I heard gunshots coming from somewhere else and left them, flying in the direction of the shots.

Once I arrived I saw other humans.

They were running out of the spider bamboo forest.

I entered there and immediately spotted the dead spider and a dead human.

I clenched my jaw and inspected the human, I took his gun and knife.

I flew up and stealthily left, without the other humans seeing me, I finally flew to my house as I had planned before the distractions.

I dropped of some things that were for me except for the knife and what I brought the children and Hank, then I left again to fly around.

I flew they the things that I'd seen earlier.

I took a good look at them and found that they were helicopters.

So that's how they got here, Kong must have taken them down and they crashed.

It didn't look like they all made it, the pilots in the one I saw where dead.

The helicopters looked to be military ones.

I passed Kong, he sat in water with a squid tentacle in his mouth.

He splashed me with water as he ate he chewed on it, I try to dodge it but it doesn't really work and I still get splashed a bit.

I laughed as I fly away from him towards the Iwis home.

Flying over the gate, I spotted the excited children, I flipped for them, and they cheered as they jumped around.

I then carefully landed on the ground, with my stuff.

The kids crowded around me to see what I brought them, careful not to touch my wings.

I laugh at how excited they are and motion for then to move back a little, they do so giving me space.

I stand up and carefully tucked away my wings.

I showed them their stuff and walked with them as they pushed me to the tent with the paint.

"Y/n," said Hank's voice.

Looking over I saw him with the same humans I saw earlier with the Buffalo.

How the hell did they get here before me? I fucking flew, they walked, what the hell?

Hank waved me over and I walked to them, telling the kids I'd come back.

We went to the ship and Hank warned them not to touch anything, if the wanted to keep their hands.

He takes off his hat and stopped walking as they continue inside looking around curiously, "They way they tell it, for thousands of the people on this island lived in fear," he says "That's a hell of a long time to be scared."

I stood in the corner and looked on as Hank explained, I didn't understand why he needed me, he could tell them this by his own.

"And then one day one of the damnest things happened, some of the things they were afraid of started protecting them against the things that were eating them," he explained as they looked at the stone paintings.

The woman came to a painting with Kong and his parents, "But nothing lasts forever I guess,"

They came to the end where there was a big painting of Kong, "And this is where they honour the last of their saviours,"

He came up next to them, "Yeah, that,s Kong," he said nodding as if he read their minds.

"He's king around here, he's god to these people," he said glancing at the guy in a blue shirt next to him, "And their Kong's kid, their little princes," he added jokingly, pointing at me.

I rolled my eyes, "I'm not his kid, or their princes" I said.

"Sure," he said stepping away "Kong's a pretty goo king, keeps to himself mostly."

"This is home," there's the word again, "We're just guests and you don't go into someones house and start dropping bombs unless you're picking a fight"

"Wasn't Kong the one who killed your friend?"

His face changes to one of concealed pain, "No," he says quietly, "One of them did," he points to the lizard things.

"If Kong is god then those are the devil"

"And what are they called?" asked someone.

"The Iwis won't say their name," he said mysteriously, "but I call them," he paused for dramatic effect and I tried not to laugh.

"Skull crawlers," he says.
