Hey everyone! So as mentioned in the authors note this chapter is going to be different then the first. Here's the reason why that is. The big idea I have for this story is that Luigi finally snaps and turns over to Bowser's side and this chapter services as the reason as to why Luigi finally snaps. Anyways enough stalling, hope you enjoy this!
Luigi has always been treated terrible when compared to his brother Mario. Every Toad in the kingdom either didn't know who he was or just ignored him, hell even his own brother treated him horrible. The only people in the whole Mushroom kingdom who didn't treat Luigi horrible, were Yoshi and Daisy. So often Luigi was alone, Mario was constantly out doing events with Princess Peach or trying to save her from Bowser. Either way Luigi didn't care, Mario had become to say the least a mega bitch. He stopped caring about Luigi a long time ago, even though Luigi never stopped caring for him. He had saved Mario multiple times and he NEVER once thanked him. Sometime wonder why he even bothered saving him, and if he should've just let him rot in those paintings.
"Mama? Are you ok?" Luigi snapped back to reality and turned to face Yoshi. It was one of those time where Luigi had been thinking about if he should've even saved Mario. "I'm ok Yosh, just thinking." Luigi answered. "About what mama Luigi?" Yoshi asked, resting his head on Luigi's lap. Yoshi had always called Luigi 'mama' or 'mama Luigi' ever since Luigi had found the dinosaur as a hatchling. Luigi, not wanting to worry, the young dinosaur lied. "Just thinking about what to make for dinner." Yoshi's head immediately perked up from the mention of food. "Yoshi wants Lasagna!" "Lasagna it is!" Luigi said smiling. Getting up from his sit and going to the kitchen to start making dinner.
~Time skip~
It was late and dark outside, Luigi had finished putting Yoshi to sleep and decided to go out for a walk before heading to bed. The stars shined bright and the wind blew gently, it truly was a beautiful night to be out. Or at least that's how it seemed. Luigi was too busy admiring the peacefulness and beauty of the night that he didn't realize he was being followed. That is until it was too late. Before Luigi knew it, he was hit over the head by something hard and his surroundings went black. When Luigi woke up the first thing he saw was bars. 'W-where am I?' Luigi thought, sitting up and Looking around. He was in a cage, it didn't take long to figure out just exactly where he was after that. "Luigi? Is that you?" A voice questioned. Luigi looked to his left and saw another cage with a certain pink princess in it. "S-si, princess, it's me!" Peach looked a little relieved knowing that she was right. "Oh wonderful! Luigi you can break us out! Quickly! Before that disgusting lizard comes back!"
"I don't know princess, even if I could break us out, what are we going to do about Bowser?" "You fight him of course! Now quit being useless and get me out!" 'Useless.... I'm NOT useless' Luigi knew that he wasn't useless, but it still hurt to hear, especially from someone he'd helped save multiple times and who never once thanked him, Peach only ever thanked Mario. Never Luigi.... "I can't princess! I don't have any power ups and I wasn't born with natural powers like Mario!" Luigi lied, he was born with natural powers like his brother. But because he never used it, it was weak and not the easiest to control. Peach wasn't happy with that answer. She turned away from Luigi and muttered to herself. Even though Luigi and Peach's cages were a good 2-3 meters apart, Luigi still her mutter the word pathetic. He knew that she was calling him pathetic. 'I'm not pathetic, I'm not useless, I've helped save both Peach and Mario. But do they care? No, they never even thank me!' Luigi thought, turning away from Peach's cage and laying back down.
A few moments later Bowser came into the room a 'BOOM' following behind him as entered, scaring the crap out of Luigi causing him to stand up. "I see you two have finally woken up. Now we just have to wait for Mario to show up and-" "Shut up Bowser!" Peach screamed, interrupting Bowser. "P-Princess? I-I don't think t-that's-" "Shush! Bowser no matter what you have planned I will never marry you! Mario will come and stop you!" Luigi, still shaking, agreed. Bowser, looking angry, was about to say something, when Mario came bursting in. "Bowser! Release Peach at once!" Mario demanded, not even noticing that his own brother was also being held prisoner. Bowser turned to face the fat red Italian plumber, the anger that once was on his face was now replaced with a sinister smirk. "Not so fast Mario! You have to make a choice! Either save your cowardly brother Luigi, leaving the Peach here to marry me! Or save Princess Peach and leave your brother here to rot!" Bowser roared.
Luigi caught a glance of his 'heroic' brother, Mario wouldn't seriously only save one of them...Right? Mario was going to save them both....he has to have a plan. But Mario didn't even look at Luigi, not even a glance. At that moment Luigi knew Mario didn't have a plan to save them both, Mario had made his choice on who to save. Luigi felt tears begin to form in his eyes and his legs go weak. "I chose princess Peach!" Bowser looked shocked, he thought for sure Mario would've picked his brother. But despite the shock he let the pink princess go without a fight. Luigi began to sob as he watched his own brother leave with the princess, Mario didn't even look back to his bro to show any sign of being sorry. Luigi wanted to curse, yell, scream, anything! But nothing came out except for hiccupped sobs. Luigi now felt truly and utterly all alone, more than he ever had in his life.
