Everything was so cold.

Everything looked so dark.

Roman fluttered his eyes open to see nothing but pitch dark black.

He went to utter a word but all came out was his muffled voice.

Why can't he see?

Why can't he speak?

This had to be one of these dumb nightmares, right?

There was the sound of a door creaking open, following a blinding light that made Roman squeeze his eyes shut.

Foot steps.

Roman was too scared to open his eyes, to see what he was dealing with.

"Roman."

This had to be a dream.

"You're forgetting something, are you?"

Perhaps a nightmare, even.

"Do you remember me, Roman?"

Roman finally opened his eyes.

"There you are."

But why did it feel so warm when it shouldn't?

"You're safe, now."
