Y/n Pov-
I glanced up at the young prince. I could barley make out his features, being half blinded by the giant ball of fire we call the sun. We had been traveling for only about 2 weeks now, and I was already starting wondering why I decided to come along. We had already experienced countless Orcs and trolls. I mean, I was expecting adventure, but I don't know if I was prepared for battles. Yes, I may have been a little smitten with the black haired archer, but I continued to wonder if my decision to come along on the journey to reclaim Erebor was worth it. But every time I caught a peek at Kili, I reassured myself of the reason I came. The pass few weeks, there had been nothing really between us. There was the occasional goodnight, or good morning, and once I even caught the handsome archer staring at me from his pony behind mine. But nothing had compared to what I had felt the first night I talked to him. The night that I had decided to come with the company had been one of the best of my life.
Flash back 2 weeks ago ~
I heard a knock on my door. For goodness sakes who could be hear at this hour? I thought to myself as the persistent knocking got progressively more aggressive. My brother and I were hobbits, yes hobbits, the little people of the Shire. We lived a peaceful life, undisturbed by outside society. Little did I know that my life was about to get a little bit more crazy.
Bilbo, my brother, went to open the door while I watched from behind a wall. He opened the door, and to our surprise, a very intimidating dwarf stood at the open door.
"Dwalin, at your service"

By this time, I was done. I was done with these ungrateful ruffians just barging into my home. I sighed as another knock was heard at the door. "I swear, if this is another blasted dwarf-" I was cut off by a two voices saying,
"I'm Fili,"
"and Kili"
"At your service" The two dwarves said in unison.
"You must be Mr. Boggins?" asked one of the brothers.
I was immediately dumbstruck by the dark haired brothers strikingly handsome features. I must have been staring at him because as he passed me, he gave me a cheeky grin. I almost died right there. Bilbo gave me a glare that read "Please help me" so obviously, I had to give a little chuckle. I smoothed out the rumples of my outfit and followed the group to the dining room.
The night was filled with commotion, including a certain wizard claiming responsibility for the sudden party. Gandalf was a tall fellow, well compared to a hobbit I guess. He kept bumping his head on the beams and chandeliers.
Later that night, I needed a break. I was having a bit of the mental breakdown after being crowded with the dwarves for so long. I ran for the door and shut it tight behind me. I walked out into my garden, filled with flowers that reminded me of stars and the other wonders of the sky. I immediately let out a deep sigh, letting all my emotions out with a sudden heave of breath. I looked at the wondrous sky, breathing in the crisp, fresh air of the Shire. Before I could get up to head back inside, I felt a strong hand on my shoulder. I let out a little screech, not knowing who could possibly be standing behind me.
"I'm sorry! Didn't mean to scare you lass" said the handsome dwarf from before.
Once again I just stared at him again. He let out a small chuckle. Almost like he could sense my huge crush forming on him.
"It's fine, it's fine. I just wasn't expecting you there." I said as I turned away to hide my growing blush.
"Here sit back down, I saw you run out and I just wanted to make sure you were ok," whispered Kili, his voice etched with emotion.
"Yes, I'm fine, I just got a little overwhelmed by the fact that there are 13 dwarves and a wizard in my house."
"Yea, I understand. I didn't mean to throw any sudden pressure on you. I'm sorry."
"Look, it's really fine! It's not your fault anyways, whatever Gandalf has in mind, I'm sure it will be worth it."
He turned his head to face me. Rays of moonlight hit his face, giving him almost an angelic look. I smiled and turned my head to face the ground, hiding my bright red face.
We shared a few moments in silence, just enjoying the crisp night air, and each others presence.
"Let's go back inside, I'm sure it will be calmer now that a certain Uncle of mine is here."
I let out a small laugh, and with that we headed back inside. I glanced behind me, only to find the handsome dwarf blushing too.
* * *
"Please y/n, please come on the journey!"
I looked into Kili's eyes, and I could tell he really meant it. Me and my brother were both worried about embarking on the journey. Neither of us had even been outside of the Shire. But I wasn't one to back down on an adventure, and I was sure I could get Bilbo to come. The dwarves were getting ready to go and neither of their burglars were signing onto the adventure.
"Alright, alright! I mean, how often do you get to go reclaim an old dwarven kingdom, right?" I laughed.
"Right." Said Kili. He smiled as I signed the sheet.
"Wait! Y/n!" I turned my head to see a skeptical looking Bilbo. "I don't want you to go. I can't loose you."
"Well then Bilbo, you might just have to come along!" I gave him a grin, but all I got was a frown in return.
"Y/n, I'm really worried. What if we don't come back?"
"Oh please Mr. Boggins!" piped up Kili.
"Bilbo, why should you suddenly back down from an adventure when you have always dreamed of it? I'm going. I can't turn back now. I love you brother, and please, consider joining. If you don't risk anything, you risk even more."
I hugged my brother, and with that, I turned to the door and walked out with the rest of the dwarves.
End of Flashback
So yes, Bilbo eventually decided to come, and we were off on our journey. I was grateful for Kili convincing me to come, even if I was beginning to wonder if I should have left the Shire.
As nightfall was laying it's dark blanket upon Middle Earth, our company began to settle down for the night. We had found a small, secluded clearing at the base of the Misty Mountains. I was rolling out my blanket when I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Y/n!"
I looked back to see Kili, who was waving to come over to him. I jogged over to where he stood, half hidden by a great oak.
"What? Is there something out there?" I asked peering into the woods. I hoped he hadn't spotted any orcs.
"No. It's something I've been meaning to tell you."
I looked up into his brown eyes.
"What do you mean?"
He looked down at me. I was a little shorter, considering my hobbit build. Before I could even register Kili's face coming down at mine, his lips pressed against mine. With a gasp, I sealed the space between our lips. Kili's hand snaked around my neck, and mine found it's way to his cheek, which was covered with a light stubble. When we needed to come up for air, he whispered a gentle, "I really like you," into my ear. I blushed and nodded in return.
"Kili?"
"Yes?"
"Me too."
And with that we smashed our lips back together. The feeling was pure bliss, like all the happiness of Middle Earth being there, between our lips.
I suddenly heard a rustle in the bush and I looked to see what had disturbed our peace. What I saw was a certain blonde dwarf standing dumb-struck next to the big tree.
"What the-" Started the older brother of Kili.
With that me and Kili broke into laughter and spent the rest of the night joking about the look on the heir to Erebors face.
