Chapter Two:

Golden Eyes

🐾

As I arrived at work, I had about 15 minutes left until I started. Parking my car in the parking lot of the business building, I grabbed my briefcase and my wallet. Getting out of the car, locking it behind me, I made my way across the street to the convenience store across the road.

Entering the store a bell rang alerting the employees that someone had entered. Heading over to the coffee bar and grabbed myself a paper cup and made myself a coffee with there machine, a mochachino and added two brown sugar and two cream, since I prefered a sweet coffee. Once my coffee was done, I put a white plastic cover on top and went to the cash register.

Putting my coffee on the counter I pulled out my wallet that I had slid into my pocket when I walked across the road. They rung up the coffee as I remembered that I needed a refill "could I get a 25 king size pack of cigarettes."

The cashier looked me up and down "I'm going to need your ID".

With a sigh since I've been here multiple times, I pulled out my driver's license and showed it to her. To her surprise expression, she commented "your 26, thought you were younger".

I just nodded, it was a perk of being an omega "yeah I get that alot". I put the license back into my wallet as she went into the storage drawer and took out the pack of cigarettes.

She rang it up and spoke "the total is $17.45".

I huffed "the price went up, usually with a coffee its 15".

She just nodded in a bit of annoyance "everything went up".

Taking out my debit card, I paid with it using the pay pass tap and afterwards putting in back and putting the wallet back into my pocket, I grabbed the pack and put it into my other pocket before taking the coffee and wishing her a good day.

Going back across the road and up the steps to the companies front door, I noticed that the other secretary was already there through the glass doors. Going inside using my back to open the push door. Doing a graceful spin back around, I walked over to the second secretary desk and said "good morning Steph, your here early this morning".

Stephanie, a pretty girl that always has her blonde hair pulled back in a braid over her shoulder, her hair kind of looks like Elsa's now that I think of it. God I have watched frozen too many times. And with the blue form fitting dress she wore, didn't help my thought process.

She raised her head and smiled at me "morning Barry, yeah I have to get some papers done before Mr. Wise comes in".

Sitting down and taking a sip from my coffee, I raised a brow at her. Setting down my coffee, "isn't his assistant supposed to keep track of that?".

She paused while searching through her papers, a small tint of blush on her cheeks. This guaranteed my suspicion.

"Oh... I see~" I chuckled.

She raised her head at me while I stuck my tongue out slightly and made a circle with one hand and put a finger through it with the other and the horror on her face was priceless!

She grabbed a pen and chucked it at me, I dodged "You are disgusting!" she yelled.

We both paused for a second before breaking into laughter. She was my best friend, almost like an aunt to my little Gale.

I got up and went and got the pen she chucked before bringing it to her, when she took it, I told her "I won't tell, but be careful".

She smiled at me "Thanks Bear". That was her nickname for me.
