Chapter 4 🌳Kendall's POV🌳 Why were they so concerned we were gonna do something? We were just stopping what was wrong. I slumped against the wall next to Kenzie. It was midnight and we were about to break out. I went along with our plan and pulled the loose bar from the window. It was big enough for me to get through and same for Kenzie. We pulled ourselves out from the cell and found ourselves in the cool night. We snuck into the forest and hid amongst the trees. I had slept plenty during the dull day and found myself wide awake. I was ready to take action.

🌲Kenzie's POV🌲 It had been four days now. Search parties were looking everywhere for us. Even other Centrals. They didn't realize we ran from them yet stayed in our own Central. Each night we would carefully sneak into our own houses and get food. It wasn't an easy task. Guards covered the area day and night. It was a miracle we hadn't got caught yet. But tonight we would. Of course I didn't know it but we would. I snuck into my house grabbed some bread and cheese and snuck back out. I ran to the forest and dumped my belongings near our site. I ate quickly. Kendall still had not come back which made me uneasy. I snuck back to the town to be caught by a guard. Across from me stood another guard grasping Kendall's wrist. "Back to jail," I mumbled. "Oh your not going to jail," one of the guards snickered. "The games will come a little bit earlier this year." My heart dropped at the words he said. The ones that followed made me gasp. We would be in the games this year. Along with 24 other bewildered children. They were to take place in one week. That gave us one week to fix this whole mess. They sent us to our homes. "Let your family get one week with you," the guard said with a smirk. I went straight to my room since my family lay soundly asleep. One week was very little time to fix something as big as The Games. I didn't know if we could do it. We could, right? || Sorry if this is like Catching Fire. I've never read the book so I don't know what really happens! More?
