"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not whither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crown less again shall be king."
- J.R.R. TolkienHi all! Man, it has been a serious trip to get to this point. Entering the Open Novella last minute may have not been the smartest idea starting out but it has definitely relit a passion for writing I'd forgotten I even had and it has felt so good being able to actually plan and write a story, something I haven't done in years.
Before yall leave I wanna give out a few thanks to the people who made Daybreaker possible:
Thanks my best friend for cheering me through the length of writing this story, all of the long talks we had discussing character names and you never getting fed up with me once over how much I gushed over my latest ideas (and how cute i thought the characters were in my own head lol).
I wanna thank literally everyone in my college art class that has heard me rant about this project and managed to find this story. All of the cool ideas yall have offered as well as the character art just because you wanted to means the absolute world to me!!
Special thanks to J.R.R. Tolkien who gave the inspiration to start a fantasy story chuck full of elves of my own design, and The Longest Johns for making THE BEST focus song I could ever ask for for getting in the right mood writing this story (getting an animatic movie built in my imagination to this song certainly helped!!).
And finally, I want to thank all the rest of yall who have read to this point, it's readers like you that make writing worth while, and just to see your intrest to stick around till the very end just warms my heart in ways words can't even begin to describe, thank you, thank you, thank you so much for taking the time of day to read my story out of millions of others, you guys are absolutely amazing and from the very bottom of my heart, thank you!!
