Chp 1: The Mission

Monami's POV

The sunshine peeping through the window slit across the room and my alarm woke me up from my beauty sleep to this most beautiful day of life. The moment I opened my eyes, a smile automatically etched on my face.  Well the reason of my happiness is my Karan, We are officially getting engaged todayyy.... 

Its our Roka ceremonyy!! Wohoo!! I can't believe we have come through such a long journey from a trainer-cadet relation at Parakram SAF to him being my Finance and soon to be husband!!! Ofcourse he had proposed to me long back but we had waited for this day to make our relationship official with all the rituals, now that I have completed my training and bagged the honor of the Badge of Special Agent Captain Dr. Monami Mahajan!! 

Yes you read it right, I am now an Army Doctor at Parakram SAF all thanks to the support of Batra Sir and my Khadoos Shergill, who not only waited for me to fulfill my dreams and establish my name and career in the Army but also supported me in each and every step of it. 

2 years ago at the completion of our training at the Parakram SAF I was awarded the 'Best Cadet of the Batch 2019' fulfilling my mom's dream by making her proud while Karan had been promoted to the post of 'Lieutenant Colonel' for his commendable performance and acts of bravery in various missions of the Army. 

It was the proudest day of our lives!! After which I had decided to pursue my dreams of becoming an army doctor for which I took additional training and exams from the Headquarters for 1 more year and Karan continued as a trainer at Parakram SAF while also leading more missions from his new post. Inspite of him being in Deolali while I was in Delhi, we never let anything come between us, the distance just helped our love grow more each day!! 

While Sid got posted at Parakram SAF as an technical expert after training, he got engaged to Sanju immediately and Koel got posted as a female trainer, as Sanju's junior, at the Academy for assuring more female representation in the trainer staff and help more female cadets to pursue their dreams like us. Faizi and Koel got married last year after way too many ups and downs in their lives, finally Nikhil accepting Faizi as his Dad and pushing Koel to get married to him!! 

And lastly I aced my training and exams at Delhi and bagged the honour of being an Army Doctor Special Agent Lieutenant Monami Mahajan and then I was posted in various parts of the country including Kashmir, Assam, Gujarat borders as my first few assignments. All thanks to my Khadoos Shergill who kept me motivated throughout my journey and postings, I excelled in my performances and was awarded an early promotion to being a 'Captain' so soon in my career. 

After this beautiful moment Karan and I finally are ready to get married and settle down for real. I feel so blessed to have him in my life, he is the best thing that ever happened to me in life and I absolutely love him sooo muchhh!! I am squealing in joy right now!! I still remember how I had almost lost him forever but he came back for me on today's day, keeping his promise like he always does.

Flashback

4 years ago,

"It is the most important day of life today, Karan, I promise you that I will complete this Mission today, I will find each and every terrorist who are involved in RPF and make sure to give the most painful death to them. This is the promise of Cadet Dr. Monami Mahajan to you Major Karan Shergill, I won't let your Martyrdom go in vain, I will avenge your death my love. I love you so much!", I spoke  to Karan's photo-frame with tears in my eyes full of determination as I kissed the ring on my necklace, the ring that Karan had got to propose me before he went for this bloody mission but never got a chance to propose. 

He was martyred in a bomb blast, all thanks to that idiot joker Balli. Once all of this mess is over I will personally kill that imposter of Karan for ruining all our lives. But for now I need to focus on this Mission.
