Chapter 1

"That was wonderful!" Mimi said as she kissed Shawn after making love to him.

Mimi and Shawn made arrangements to meet at Greenbriar Resort over the weekend for a secret rendevouz, away from their spouses, Belle and Philip.

Mimi was bored in her marriage to Philip Kiriakis, who was so busy taking over business to help his ailing father, Victor. Philip was invested in being the only son able to take over the Kiriakis empire and make his father proud.

Shawn, on the other hand, was tired of Belle's constant nagging. It seemed lately, all Belle wanted was to be the family man to her and their daughter, Claire. Shawn loved Claire with all his heart. He just could no longer be the family that Belle demanded.

"Well, I guess I had get back to the nagging wife!" Shawn groaned.

"And I better get back to my workaholic husband!" Mimi complained.

The two lovers kissed each other and made love again before they embarked on their boring lives back in Salem.

An hour later, Shawn showed up at his and Belle's loft that Belle's father, John, had gave them to live in.

"Where have you been?!" an irate Belle said.

"I told you Belle, I had a business meeting at Greenbriar over the weekend." Shawn lied.

"Business meeting!" Belle said, overly excited at having found out the truth. "I know you were with Mimi!"

"Okay, so the meeting was with Mimi." Shawn continued to lie. "Mimi has some fresh ideas for Basic Black and I thought I would get to Mimi before Philip did."

"How could you, Shawn?!" Belle said, ignoring Shawn's obvious lies. "My best friend from high school."

"What are you talking about, Belle?" Shawn said, realizing the jig was up.

"You and Mimi are having an affair!" Belle said, sounding hurt and betrayed.

"I don't know what to say." was all Shawn could say, as he retreated to the spare bedroom he now occupied for months.

"You're not getting away with this, Shawn Douglas!" Belle yelled through the bedroom door. "I won't let you go!"

Shawn just put the pillow over his head to drown out the Belle's yelling.

Two days later, Mimi found herself in Dr. Mike Horton's office complaining of abdominal pain and nausea.

"Well, Ms. Kiriakis, I have some news for you." Mike said. "You're pregnant!"

Mimi just looked at Mike stunned with disbelief.
