An Unexpected Suprise

Y/n's Pov

     "Hey watch it," I grab Will's wrist tightly as he accidentally stabbed me with a needle.

     "Sorry never given stitches to anyone before," he says continuing to stitch my neck up, turns out it was deeper than we thought. 

     He finishes the last stitch and then wraps my neck up so the stitches don't snag on my clothes. We all get up and then head to dinner. 

     "So Tris what do you think about Four, he seems to give you some extra help during training." Christina nudges Tris making her blush. I ignore them and continue to walk to dinner. When we get to the cafeteria we see it's steak for dinner. I grab a tray and stand in line to be served. Once we all got our dinner we sat down at our table and start talking about our old factions, not caring if Four didn't approve of it.

      Tris explains that I and her were friends even in Abnegation. When Four came over and sat at the edge of our table.

     "I miss my parents a lot though," Tris admitted looking a little sad. 

     "Same here," Christina and Will said at the same time. "What about you Y/n?" I could feel Four's eyes on me now, wanting to know my answer as well.

     "No, my mom died when I was young and my dad was an ass," I say. Shrugging and continued eating.

     "Oh, I'm sorry Y/n," Will says feeling bad for bringing it up.

     "No it's fine really, don't have to deal with his shit anymore," I say taking a sip of my water. 

     "Listen up!" We all turned to see Eric up on a platform. "All newbies are going out tonight on patrol around the wall, the people above the bar are with me. And the people under the bar are with Four, we leave in five." He says, jumping down and heading towards the pit.

     We get up and head towards the scoreboard to see our placements. Please be above, please be above I pray. I look and see me, Christina, and Will above the bar, Tris being under but only by a bit.

     "I guess this means goodbye, for now, see you guys later," Tris says hugging all of us and leaving to go group up with Four and all the other initiates under the bar. Meanwhile, we head towards the pit.

     "Alright there will be five initiates per truck," Eric says, as people start piling into trucks. Christina and Will quickly left me so they could be in a truck together, Probably to go make out. I roll my eyes and head towards the few trucks not filled, the seats in the truck were full so I climbed into the truck bed and sat down. After everyone was in a truck Eric climbed into the back of the truckbed of the truck I'm in. He hits the side of the truck, signaling the driver to go. The driver starts the truck and heads off to a section of the wall we are patrolling, the other trucks following behind us.

     "Ever been near the wall before Stiff?" Eric asks me raising his eyebrow. I shake my head.

     "Haven't really gone many places, my father didn't like me "exploring," I say to him making his nod. The rest of the trip was silent, but not awkward. Part of the wall comes into view and the truck starts to slow down until it comes to a complete stop, the trucks behind us doing the same. I jump out of the bed and land on the soft grass beneath me. Everyone gets out and circles around Eric.

     "Get into groups of two, there is an odd amount so someone has to be with me. No partner up."  He says, I roll my eyes knowing Christina and Will are likely to be together so I walk around trying to find someone to partner up with. Though everyone partnered up almost immediately. 

     "Who doesn't have a partner?" Eric asks as I step up to show I didn't. "Guess you are with me then Stiff." I mentally groan and walk over towards him. "Okay now everyone split up and survey the area, holler if you see something out of the ordinary. Everyone starts to leave, leaving me and Eric. He turns and heads right, I then follow.

     After thirty minutes of walking around, it got really dark, luckily enough we were all supplied with flashlights. Eric was a little bit ahead of me, and I was just wanting a bit myself. I froze as I heard a loud whimper, it sounded like whatever it was, was hurt coming from the left of me. I walk towards the noise.

     "What the fuck are you doing Stiff? Get back over here!" Eric said and I ignore him and continue to venture in front of me. "Stiff that's an order!" I don't listen as the whimpering noise gets closer and closer. I walk through a bush, then I see it. It was a wolf pup, it looked like it was alone and its back right leg has a big gash on it. I gasp and walk towards it, the pup tried to nip at me as I got closer but I shook my head.

     "Its okay buddy I'm just trying to help you", I plead almost like it understood me, it let me get closer. I take out a pocket knife and cut off a piece of fabric from my sweatshirt and wrap it around the pups wound. The pup stood up and limped its way into my lap and liked my hand. It must of been exhausted because it fell right asleep. I get a better look at the wolf pup as it sleeps. It was completely black, so it's definitely a black wolf and looked like it was just a little older than a newborn. I hear stomping come towards us and Eric emerges from the bush. 

     "God Daman it Stiff I gave you an order-" He cuts himself off when he see the wolf in my lap.

     "I hear a whimpering noise, he was hurt," I smile looking down at the cute ball of fur.

     "Isn't that lovely, now lets go. Its time to head back." He says headed back from where he came, turning to make sure I'm coming. Is stand up with the pup in my arms and start to walk. "No no no, leave the damn wolf here," He says scolding me like I was a child.

     "No not happening, im keeping it." I said holding them closer. Eric sighs and continues walking, I smile as follow him with a skip in my step.
