We'll meet again

○Chapter 2: Voice○

By the time you reached home, the sun had already set.

You opened the door to Kazuha's room to see a peaceful sleeping figure, a streak of red hair falling on his face, tickling his nose as he scrunched his eyebrows. Brushing away his hair, you gave him a warm smile. You felt at peace with him. Maybe because he was the only comfort you had.

You never really had parental love except for the first 5 years of your life. After your parents died, Kazuha was the only one who genuinely cared about you and he was the one whom you ever loved.

No.

There was someone else.

Your memories became foggy again. But you knew. There was someone whom you cared about a lot and who gave you comfort as well. You couldn't remember that someone but their absence very well pained you. The emptiness in your heart was just the feeling of missing that someone, the pain of waiting for that someone, the pain of losing that someone.

Your right ear started to ring as you heard a familiar voice in your head. The ringing grew louder as you lost control of your legs and fell to your knees.

"We'll meet again"

You heard these words from a very familiar voice. It wasn't your parents, neither was it Kazuha. The voice was from your memories. From the emptiness within you.
The ringing continued as you heard screams. Screams from the familiar voice, yourself and Kazuha. You groaned as the ringing grew louder and so did the screams.

"Y/n! Y/N!!"

You snapped back to reality as you heard Kazuha yelling out your name with concern.

"Y/n..are you feeling alright?"
He looked at you worriedly as his gentle voice soothed the ringing.
You took deep breaths trying to calm your thoughts down. Your mind was in chaos.

"Just a bit fatigued from the training. It was quite vigorous." You lied.

You didn't want to worry Kazuha more. He was already stressed with his clan's ongoings. You promised yourself you would let him know about this later.

"Lay down on my bed..ill brew you a cup of tea. It'll help you calm down."
He sighed leaving the room, looking back at you once more.

You sat there puzzled, confused. You wanted to cry but didn't know the reason why. You wanted to scream, you were angry, you were upset but you didn't know the reason why. You just wanted the emptiness to be gone. You wanted your questions to be answered. You tried to collect your thoughts.

You knew Kazuha and the elders know something about this. Even if you asked them, they wouldn't answer. It's not like Kazuha didn't want to tell you about it. He did. Once, he even tried to. But the elders didn't want you to know at all. Who even was this person?

"I'm back! Here's your tea." You sat up as kazuha handed you a cup of tea. The tea indeed calmed you down. You felt refreshed.
"Feeling better?"

"Yeah. Thanks"

"Come to think of it...it's been really quiet around. Where are the elders?"
You looked at Kazuha.

"Ahh my father and grandfather said they had an important meeting on the beach northwest of Byakko Plain regarding the recent issues"

"Hmmm, I see."
You gave Kazuha a weird look. Glancing at him every two seconds.

"No y/n. We'll get scolded if we interrupt their meetings. We're staying home" He said giving you a flick at your forehead.

"But this is the only time we can help them! We're not small children anymore. Kazuha pleaseeee"

He gave out a sigh
"Fine. But we're only going to watch them from afar"

"Whattt that's no fun!"

He looked at you with half-lidded eyes

"Fine.."
