I walked down the dimly lit hallway, the flickering lights gave me a headache lights and the constant noise of scurrying made me nervous.
The flower patterned wallpaper was slightly chipping and you could see the mold residue from the walls behind the wallpaper.
"The lobby was all right but, this? This is disgusting."
Now I know why this was free of charge.
I could hear my boots echoing loudly causing an unwanted chill of fear down my back. I have no clue why I felt so paranoid, everything just seemed so....creepy. Suddenly, I felt a hand grab my shoulder. I let out a loud scream and fell to the ground.
A boy jumped back with his hands up in a defensive way and shock in his face. He had blue eyes and messy brown hair. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt with skinny jeans and a pair of black vans. He wasn't that tall, he probably about my height.
"Didn't mean to scare you, love!" He said with a hint of humor in his tone. "You just dropped your wallet." He held it out in front of him so I could take it. He also had a British accent, it wasn't the same as the guy in the elevator but I could tell he was from England.
"Oh. Sorry, thank you." I took it from his hands and got to my feet, brushing the dust from the carpet below me.
"Long road trip, am I right?" He asked me while his eyebrows slightly when up. "You're soaking wet and you kind of smell like a wet dog." He said putting on a sarcastic, innocent smile, acting like he hasn't said anything offensive.
"Thanks." I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes at him.
Asshole.
"What's your name?" He asked me out of the randomly.
"Why?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Because, you're cute." He smiled at me and I blushed. I've been doing that a lot tonight.
"Emily. My name's Emily." I straighten myself up.
He stared at me for a moment like he was about to pass out or something. I was beginning to feel uncomfortable.
"Is there something wrong, dude?" I snapped at him, I realized I was being rude but I really hated it when people stare at me.
"Nothing, nothing." He blinked his eyes repeatedly. "You just reminded me of someone..sorry. I'm Louis by the way." He mumbled.
I nodded and tried to look through my bag for my keys to the hotel room.
"I'm just playing, darling. You don't smell like a wet dog, I was just trying to light up the situation a bit." He tried reassuring me.
I ignored him and finally grabbed a hold of my keys and walked down the hall.
"1501, 1509, 1512...." I said to myself as I read the numbers on the old ratty doors.
"Hey! Hold on!" Louis voice echoed off the walls of the empty hall way. He was so loud.
"Shh!!" I half yelled, half whispered. "People are trying to sleep!" I gestured to the other doors in the hallways.
"Oh you don't have to worry about that, it's only me and my friend Liam on this floor. No one else." He shook his head and rolled his eyes.
"What do you mean no one else lives here?" I said crossing my arms.
"Why would anyone want to live here? After what happened here, anyone in their right minds must be insane to live on this floor. But too bad I'm not in my right mind." He smiled at me and I nearly scoffed. "Also, all the other rooms are under construction. The only room available is Room 1513 and ours." He looked down the hallway.
