I rush back into the living room a big smile on my face and plop down on the sofa and text Craig and Char the big news. My phone is buzzing after a few seconds with texts, I reply to the both of them as quick as I can my smile never leaving my face.
"What's going on?" Zach says looking away from the t.v to stare at him, "Matty and Aaron are in a relationship" I state simply and continue to text...."Finally! That guy's glares were getting annoying! Well played though, well played" Zach laughs and continues to watch the film, I finally put away my phone and notice Connor, "What?" I ask. "I feel kind of stupid for not noticing" he laughs and I ruffle his hair, "Everyone is oblivious to some things" I smile and he nods, it's then when I get caught up looking in his eyes and remember that strange dream from before in the back art room....I've seen these eye's before...I look away and close my eyes. I have a past, everyone does. I was abused, I was made sure I knew it was my fault I was getting this abuse, I know this...It was my fault...It was...As I begin to drown in those thoughts a voice breaks through them. It's a whisper yet it was loud enough to shatter me.
"Ellie...Stop" I gasp quietly as I open my eyes and blink slowly refocusing on the scene in front of me, I look around and notice Connor watching me from the corner of his eyes. It can't be his voice?...
I know those eyes and I know that voice. They're similar and yet different. That voice has always helped me through situations...It was there when I was a child, it was there when I grew up. It's been there this whole time, urging me on, telling me to keep going. Yet...My own mind twists that voice sometimes, turns it against me and makes that once so beautiful voice into something of hatred. And that hatred is aimed towards me. I know it's not a real voice, it's just my subconscious it has to be. It can't be Connor...Right?
I laugh quietly to myself at that stupid thought and roll my eyes as I stand up to get a glass of water.
I may have to ask Mr White for some more pills if the dreams are starting up again, I can't be having it resurface. I don't want to ruin this place for these guys.
