"I'm not sure," Sparrow answered.

Lily repeated the ritual as her twin brother did.  She stared down at the blood that was dripping from her cut. Sparrow reached for some bandages in the med kit she brought, her mind still plagued with thoughts of Xavier stealing her mothers dog tags. She died in service to the army, and he up and stole them like that! Even worse, he's using them as leverage.

She furiously wiped her face with one hand, getting rid of stray tears. What have I gotten myself into? Sparrow thought ruefully. Sparrow reached for her friend's bloody palm, making sure the bandages she put on were snug.

Sparrow felt a presence before hearing a gentle rustle. Mrs. Mayflower - her wolf tail wagging so fast Sparrow thought it was going to fly off - was there. She pushed the pink piece of paper in front of Sparrow.

"Your updated classes," Sparrow heard the principal say.

"oh," responded Sparrow, surprised, "thanks."

She picked up the paper. The fourth block class that was empty was now replaced with a new class. Alpha education, it read.

"Oh," Sparrow murmured, "I guess.. I'm Alpha now..."

"Oh, looks like we have to go now," Lily commented, her black eyes gazing at Sparrow apologetically.

"We'll get your mom's tags back, ok? I'll see you later."

She squeezed Sparrow's right hand tightly before running to catch up with her brother in the crowd.

Sparrow's eyes shifted to the next werewolf in line. Her long platinum blonde hair tied up in a high ponytail, and her eyes were a bright green. She wore a black jacket over her white summer dress. Sparrow shook herself out of the hole she was in. She couldn't worry about her mom's dog tags right now.

Sparrow smiled up at the werewolf.

"Hey! Name's Katie, what's yours?" She asked, extending her hand.

Sparrow looked at her hand before shaking it. "Sparrow," Sparrow responded before dipping her head.

"Are you here to sign up for Frozenpack?" Sparrow inquired, gesturing to the white sign up sheets on the stand.

Katie nodded, "Yup!"

Sparrow removed her hand from Katie's and grabbed a sign up form. Sparrow handed Katie the pen and watched as the excitable werewolf filled out the form. Katie picked up the grey ceremonial knife and held her hand up to the birdbath. The birdbath was smooth with faded carvings of wolves on its rim.

It looked like it was made of some type of stone. It was probably really heavy. Katie did not hesitate when performing the ceremony.

She looked into the bowl as her blood mixed with the now developing pool of thick crimson liquid in the birdbath.

She opened her mouth to speak, "I, Katie Mayflower, relinquish the ties to my old pack. I now hold in my hand a promissory note for the pack Frozenpack. I accept the note and formally pledge to the wishes of the pack. I will die, if it means the safety of my fellow packmates."

Aha!

Sparrow thought that Katie looked familiar.

She must be related to the principal. Katie dipped her head to Sparrow and jogged off into the crowd of students. The next werewolf had a look of severe discomfort on his face. He had brown hair dyed blue, and his white ears had dyed blue tips, too. As Sparrow studied his white ears, she realized they looked a bit off.

He tugged at his big blue jacket. Their interactions were quite the same, he told her his name - It was Baz Whitefall. He signed out the sheet, and completed the ceremony. Baz picked up the grey knife without a problem.
