Sora was a prince from the east and attended a pristine boarding academy alongside his friends from the allied kingdoms. Luca, one of the princes from the kingdom in the southeast, agreed to accompany the blue haired prince to the gathering that night - he mainly went to see Princess Charli from the kingdom opposite.

The students of the school were in their dressing rooms with the suitors getting them ready for the gathering.
"Would it be diamonds or the gemstones, Princess?" Alex's lady-in-waiting asked her, carefully holding the glamorous jewels set in front of her.
"It's only a communal gathering within the school, I'm sure the pink sapphires would be fine." The princess smiled happily, straightening her gown – making sure it hadn't gotten any wrinkles before she left her room.

The royal children within the walls of the academy rarely ever got to attend such "casual" gatherings like this, they made sure to have as much fun as they possibly could without any limitations.

"Students of this royal academy, I do hope that the years attending the gathering are almost ready and that your suitors accommodated you all well. Please make your way to the hall when you are complete, we expect you to be no later than by the fourth ring of the bell." The headmisteress' voice was heard all over the school. It wasn't long until the gathering would begin.

In the prince's quarters, Sora was admiring himself in the mirror before he noticed a tall figure behind him. The cyan-blue prince turned around with a great smile on his face and rapped his arms around the other's neck.
"What happened to formalities, my prince?" The red haired prince gave a chuckle of amusement.
"Who cares about those. We're alone and I wanna keep it that way!" Sora scoffed, moving closer to the boy's body in a comfortable movement. "Besides... If we do go now, all the peasants are gonna stare at you and you'll run off with them!" Jealousy peaked in his voice and he looked away.

"Alright, alright. I hear ya... I guess we could stay here at least a little longer." The other leaned in and gave a peck on the prince's lips.
"Jaxx.. Now you have pink on your lips!" Sora chuckled. Leaning his body closer towards Jaxx's and the two shared a gentle embrace.

"Prince Sora, I believe I had left a particular....." The voice trailed off. Sora's suitor had walked into the room and excused himself out.

Jaxx and Sora's faces flustered a bright red from embarrassment.
"He won't tell anyone. Promise." The blue haired prince looked up towards Jaxx's ruby eyes and his lips whimpered a frown.
"Hey, hey. I don't care who tells or not. Don't worry about it too much, alright?" Jaxx planted a kiss on Sora's lips and a flourishing smile grew on both their faces. "There's the pretty face I wanna see." He cups his face and leans in closer.

Before anything else could happen, the bell had rung twice already and Sora stepped back.
"We should get going!" He placed a kiss on Jaxx's cheek and dragged him out to the corridors.

"We're not gonna make it!" Jaxx laughed, now running hand-in-hand with Sora.

They ran down the carpeted marble stairs and barged in through the great doors leading into the hall.

"I believe you are both late." The headmistress spoke – her voice was sharp and she didn't seem too pleased with their tardiness. "Sit yourselves down."

The pair excused themselves with a bow and quickly rushed to their seats.
The hall had an empty yet decorated centre surrounded by round circular tables and a platform at the front. They searched for their friends for a bit until their eyes set upon a girl with orange hair (already seated).

"There's Charli!" Sora exclaimed, keeping his voice in a soft whisper so that it wouldn't be heard by other people in the room.
Charli, the princess from the northeast, sat around a table alongside her friends from the neighbouring kingdoms. The two were, are, close friends, their kingdoms were close allies thus lead to them becoming friends. They joined the academy at the same time and were inseparable until their third year, when Sora had met his redheaded lover, Prince Jaxx.
Both kingdoms thought they would marry when they both come of age but it seems the duo had their own plans.

"Hey you two! Let me guess, you both got a lecture by the headmistress?" A black haired prince, named Levi, gave a smirk.
"Is something up between you two? It seems every time you're late, you're both late." Luca noted. The rest of the table agreed.
"We'll tell you after the speech. It's informal to start a conversation when somebody is about to speak, anyway." Jaxx smiled and turned to face the platform, his hand intertwined with Sora's out of view.

"And so I would like to congratulate our final years on their success throughout these years and may their bring their knowledge to accompany their reign on the throne for their kingdoms. Good night to you all!" The headmistress finished the announcement and the food was now being served.

"What did you wanna tell us, Jaxx?" Alex, Jaxx's best friend since the start of school, looked over to the redhead.
"Well..." he looked around and then back 'round the table, "Sora and I are dating."
This short, direct response caught Levi, who already had quite a mouthful of food, off guard and gave the couple a look for clarification.
"Excuse me?" He coughed out, covering his mouth with the embroidered napkins.
"We're dating. Us. Together. As in a couple. A relationship. Soon to be betrothed?" Jaxx said with a questioning look on his face – lifting his and Sora's hand that held one another by tangled fingers, Sora looked at their hands in confusion and flustered a deep crimson red. The cyan-blue boy buried his face into the side of his arm, hiding from the embarrassment Jaxx had put upon him.

"Congratulations, Sora! You were pining over him since you set your eyes on him!" The orange-haired princess blurted out. Sora was now burning bright red.
"Charli! You weren't supposed to say that!" He dug his head into Jaxx's shoulder and stayed there for a couple of seconds before getting back up to talk and enjoy the time he had with his friends - and the food.

It wasn't long until the lights dimmed down and music began to play through the hall's walls. Some people got up early and headed to the centre such as Light, Charli's partner and Alex's younger brother, Charli, and Luca. Alex and Levi remained seated and enjoyed the dessert and delicacies on the table. Jaxx and Sora did the same, just ate less and zoned out with the music hand-in-hand.

When the couple got bored of staying in their seats, Jaxx decided to get up and take Sora by his hand to the centre where everyone else was dancing.
"Come on, Sora. No one's gonna even care!" Jaxx begged.
"I can't dance!" The blue haired prince laughed.
"Do it if you love me!" The redhead smirked. "And I'll come to your dormitory with you tonight."
"Kisses?"
"Kisses."
Sora gave in and got onto his feet.

The two walked over to the centre and got into position. Sora's hands resting on Jaxx's shoulders, his slenderly thin hands contrasting nicely against the deep red suit. Jaxx's hands were placed on Sora's waist and they swayed to the melody until it changed to a more suitable tune for a waltz.
They placed one of their hands against each other's and moved in sync to the tempo and danced the night away.
