I gasped as I woke up to the sound of screaming.
I gasped again, thinking of what happened last night. I looked over, expecting to see Charming.
I sighed, hating myself for thinking it was true. Stupid silly dream. Why would it be true?
I looked down at my left hand and gasped.
It wasn't a dream. Charming actually gave me a promise ring. My eyes widened as the realization that the kisses were real hit me. I got off the bed and noticed a note on the chest at the foot of the bed.
I walked over and grabbed it:
'My dearest beauty,
I'm sorry I had to leave your side. You simply look like an angel as you slept, and it made it even more difficult to wake up and leave you.
I hope you can forgive me for what you may see. Just please know that I truly love you,
And that every word I say last night:
I meant every single thing.
Truly yours,
Prince Charming'
"Forgive me for what you may see?" I repeated the words, confused. My heart sunk as I remembered that Charming said his mother was planning some things.
I shook my head before looking down at the new ring. I could help myself but kiss the ring. All I could do was hope for a good change. Something I needed.
I walked out to my balcony, enjoying the fresh air.
"Fiona?"
I froze when I realized that it was Charming's voice.
I quickly looked around behind me, to see if he was playing some prank on me. I turned back around and saw Charming on a different balcony, looking into the castle.
My heart fell to my feet when I saw Fiona walking up to Charming. She was human again.
Fiona and Charming were talking, and unfortunately, I couldn't hear any of it. But I could see the body language. Fiona looked uncertain. I almost lost it when I saw Charming hold Fiona's hand and look into her eyes.
Of course, that's when Mom and Dad walked up behind them.
I lost it when Charming and Fiona were hugging.
I walked back into my room, slamming the doors behind me.
I grabbed something I swore I'd never use. I grabbed my magic wand and put a silencing spell on my room so that people around the room couldn't hear me. I screamed as loud as I possibly could.
"You lying, evil, little, cockroach!" I shouted, looking at him through my windows. "How dumb could I be to believe you!?" I screamed and cried. I took the ring off of my finger, slamming it down onto my vanity.
I kept crying as I ran out of my room and to the stables.
"Belle?" Mom's voice questioned.
"Belle? Where are you going?" Father questioned.
I shook my head as I kept running. I got on my horse. I knew that if I stopped, I'd end up saying something regrettable.
I rode my horse until I felt that we needed to stop. When we finally came to a stop, I was amazed that we had ridden all the way to Mermaid Cove. I sighed as I sat close to the water.
I paused when I heard the singing and harmonizing of the mermaids swimming around. I looked at the water and saw one mermaid swimming slowly towards us.
If there was one thing I was jealous about, it was how beautiful mermaids were.
"Why can't I be as beautiful as you are?" I asked aloud.
The mermaid tilted her head to one side, "Why are you sad?"
I sighed at the question, "A stupid guy. I thought I could trust him... Only for him to have stabbed my back immeditely."
"You should bring him here," The mermaid said, "We could use a new playtoy."
"He'd have too much fun with the attention being on him," I said as I rolled my eyes. I gasped as an idea popped into my head. "Maybe that's what I need to do. I need to get a bunch of guys' attention onto me."
The mermaid smiled up at me, staying in her spot. "We have just the thing, dear," she said before glancing at one of the other mermaids.
"You do?" I asked, trying to keep my excitement hidden.
One of the mermaids resurfaced and gave the other one a vial.
"Come, dear," the first one spoke.
Cautiously, I walked closer to the water. The mermaid and I met and she held out her hand. In her hand was a vial.
"What is this?" I asked as I looked at the vial.
"Mermaid's tears," The mermaid said with a smirk, "Drink the vial, and you will become irresistible and desirable to all men."
I looked at the mermaid then back at the vial in my hand, "What would you like in exchange for this?"
I watched the mermaid look up and down my body.
"Do you have any jewels that you do not care for?" The mermaid asked.
"Not on me, no," I said, "However, if you tell me your name, I can grab something and I can give it to you then."
The mermaid smiled, "Syrena. Bring the jewel when you can, darling."
"Do you need my name?" I asked.
The mermaid smiled and gently shook her head, "No, darling. I know that you are the eldest of King Harold and Queen Lillian. You are Princess Belle."
