Back at the space colony ark

Shadow and Rouge just teleported back to the ark where a baby cry is heard echoing through the halls. Wasting no time, Shadow ran through the halls and into the nursery where sonic is being a little fussy. Shadow picked him and rocked him to calm him down. He smelled something foul, figuring that sonic needs a change. Just then the nursery door opend revealing Rouge.

Rouge: Hey hunter, how's the baby?
Shadow:[ turns to see Rouge] he's fine, just need a change and ...[heard a grumble] to be feed.
Rouge:I'll be happy to change him. [Tried to walk towards them.]
Shadow:[death glare] No!
[Rouge jumped back startled]
Shadow:[calms down to not scare his son] we may work together but that doesn't mean I trust you to go near my son.
[Rouge sighed and left. On the other side 9f the door, out of hearing distance.]

Rouge: This is Rouge reporting. Currently, I have not been able to confirm if Shadow is the Ultimate Life Form or not but something interesting that he has a son. I will continue my research on Project Shadow, and have a follow-up report very shortly. Just a reminder... don't forget about my jewels.

[While Shadow is changing sonic's diaper, he gets a flashback that Shadow holding a sleeping sonic and Maria are standing in front of a window aboard the ARK.]

Maria: Shadow, what do you think it's like on earth?
Shadow: The professor said his life's work was dedicated to all of those who live down there. He once told that the reason for his existence was, making people happy through the power of science.
Maria: Shadow...
Shadow: Maria... I just don't know anything anymore... I often wonder why I was created; what my purpose if for being here. Maybe if I go down there, I... I will find the answers ...maybe
Maria: I know you want to find answers but you need to be patient.
Shadow:[sigh] I know. [Looks at sonic sleeping] do you think sonic would like to be down in earth?
Maria:[pets sonic's head] I know he will but also we'll need to wait until he gets older.

[Shadow finished changing sonic diaper with a tear in his eye.]
Shadow:[pick up sonic and gently rocks him while walking to the kitchen to get sonic's bottle.] Maria, you would be proud of how sonic is growing. I promise to take care of him.

[Short time later. Shadow is at the earth window waitingfor the bottleto be ready. Enter Rouge]

Rouge: Why so melancholy?
[Shadow pauses, not saying anything.]

Rouge: That was so unexpected. So unlike you, Shadow, to come and rescue me. But your ability to use the Chaos Control, certainly comes in handy.
Shadow: Hmm, you know... I didn't come to save you. I came back for the Chaos Emeralds.
Rouge: Yeah, yeah. But then again, that's not the whole story, now, is it?
[Eggman stretches, and sighs as he enters the room.]

Eggman: Everything is ready to go!
Rouge: Are you sure? We only have six of the seven Chaos Emeralds, you know.
Shadow: That's more than enough for the demonstration. So let's get this show on the road!
[Shadow walks to Eggman, and he steps out of his way, looking a tad surprised.]

[Eggman has projected himself onto every television across the world while shadow(whilefeedingsonic a bottle) and Rouge watching. ]

Eggman: Bwahahahaha!! Citizens of earth, lend me your ears! Listen very closely... My name is Doctor Eggman, the world's greatest scientist. And soon to be the world's greatest ruler! Now, this is the beginning of the greatest empire of all time! Hahaha!

[In outer space, an asteroid cracks its lower half off, revealing a design reminiscent of Eggman's face. The 'nose' area splits apart into four stems, at the center of which is the Eclipse Cannon. The four stems begin radiating an energy net, which the Cannon launches straight through the sky at the Moon. Its side is completely torn off, and fire can be seen inside. While in Station Square the people are shocked and scared about what just happened including the heroes.]
Amy: Look, half of the moon is gone!?
Knuckles's: Eggman! Oh, that creep never gives up!
Tails: But how did he managed to harness all of that energy?
Knuckles: It's got to be the Chaos Emeralds... Yeah, that's the reason they were looking for them. [Notices Tails take out a Chaos Emerald] Tails...
Tails: The Chaos Emeralds are like magnets...they have the power to attract each other. If I can use that to find where Eggman is.
Knuckles:Well we can't just stand her and do nothing. Let's go.
[The three of them ran]
