It's been a couple months since the space colony ark. Sonic has been depressed for his missing father. He'll eat and sleep but that would be it. He wouldn't smile or play anymore. Everyone become worried. Everyone has been taking turns keeping an eye on the baby but the one who truly took care of the baby was Rouge. She insisted on the responsibility of taking care of the child. But that doesn't mean she's perfect. Right now she's on a mission from G.U.N to sneak into Eggman's Lair and look for the weapon Eggman announced about. Rouge had to take the baby with her cause either that she couldn't find them or there to busy. Rouge drops down into one of Eggman's vaults. She cautiously puts her back to the door and enters the passcode on the keypad, and the vault opens. She walks inside. What was inside was a capsule.

Rouge: This must be it! I've found Eggman's secret treasure!

[Rouge approaches Shadow, who is resting motionless in a stasis machine. Rouge couldn't believe it that shadow was alive. Sonic saw his father and was swarming in Rouge's Papoose

Sonic: dadda dadda!

Rouge: yes hun, it's dadda. Now we just need to get him out of here.

[Rouge operates the control panel and drains Shadow's stasis machine, freeing him, and the hatch opens. The moment Shadow opens his eyes, Omega violently tears up the place with gunfire. Shadow leaps forward and tackles Rouge to the ground. Luckly the baby didnt get hit to the ground]

Shadow: Stay here.

Rouge: Shadow!

[Baby sonic was whimpering scared. The sudden tackle, the loud noises and the scary robots was too scary. Rouge rocked the baby to calm him down. Omega continues to blast his weapons around. He tries to aim for Shadow, but he dodges his bullets easily.]

Omega: Must eradicate all Eggman's robots!

Rouge: Huh?

[Shadow resists Omega's gunfire and jumps at him in retaliation, but Rouge intercepts and breaks up the fight.]

Rouge: Hey, hold up!

[Feeling tired, Rouge looks around the wrecked room. She sits on a ledge and speaks to Omega.]

Rouge:[ turned to Omega] didn't you say that you must destroy Eggman's robots.

Omega: operative. My creator Dr Robotnik created me to be his most powerful of the E-100 Series. But Dr.robotnik betrayed me by deactivated me and left me abandoned me here.

Rouge: that explains how you are here but trust me. I'm not a robot, neither is Shadow or him[ points at herself, Shadow and the baby]

Omega: understood.

Rouge: thank you. [ turn to shadow] now I want to ask a question. Do you know who I am?

[ Shadow looked at Rouge long and hard. There something familiar about her but he just can't remember. Is she carrying a child?]

Shadow: I dont. Who's the child?

Rouge: Well...[ petting sonics head making him coo] this is sonic...your son.

[ Shadow's eyes widened with shock. The child's his?! But how? He doesn't remember having a kid.]

Sonic:[reaching out to him] dadda dadda.

Rouge: why don't you hold him. He's been lonely ever since you disappeared.

[ before shadow could say anything Rouge put sonic into Shadow's arms. Shadow looked down at the baby and sonic looked back at him. Just having him in his arms felt familiar. Sonic rubbed his head on Shadow's chest fur. It warmed Shadow's heart a bit with the familiar gesture.]

Rouge: now that's settled I think that if we worked together, we can find the man who is the cause of everything. Deal?

[Shadow and omega looked at each other and nodded.

Shadow: deal.

Rouge: all right! This make us a team!
