The Reveal

The Climax

Amelia: "..What's this?"

A small cabin looms in front of her. It looks abandoned.. and ominous.

Amelia: "Well. It's better than the woods."

She approaches the door, knocking quietly.

Silence.

She takes a breath, entering slowly.

The cabin is indeed abandoned. It doesn't look like anyone's been here for.. a few years.

It's only a one room cabin. It's only got the extreme essentials; a bed, a dining table, countertops, cabinets. Not even a bathroom.

Amelia sits down on the bed, causing dust to puff off the sides. She wipes the rest of the dust off the best she can.

Miguel: "Look, Pierce!"

Pierce: "Huh?"

Miguel: "There's a cabin or something."

Indeed, there is a cabin ahead. And the footsteps they've been following lead right to its front door.

Pierce: "She must be in there!"

Pierce rushes forward to the front door.

Miguel: "Wait, Pierce!"

Pierce: "Huh?"

Pierce turns around.

Miguel: "I.. don't like this. Something feels.. wrong."

Pierce: "What do you mean?"

Miguel: "I don't know.."

Pierce: "Well, we are in the middle of a random forest at night looking for some "thing" that Amelia refuses to even tell us about. You've got the right to feel like something's off."

Miguel: "Yeah.. that must be it.. Alright."

Miguel catches up to Pierce, and they slowly creak open the door.

Pierce: "Amelia?"

Amelia: "Miguel? Pierce?"

Amelia stands, and hugs them both. Pierce sighs in relief.

Pierce: "What happened to you, Amelia? Where did you go?"

Amelia: "Where did YOU go?"

Miguel: "We.. don't know."

Miguel looks at Pierce. Pierce shakes his head.

Miguel: "We were just.. walking. And suddenly you weren't there."

Amelia grins.

Amelia: "Yeah, I'm pretty sneaky like that."

Pierce smiles warmly, and Miguel nods.

Pierce: "Yeah, I guess.. we didn't even realize you were gone until.. like.."

Amelia: "Well it's fine. Guess what guys!"

Amelia seems.. really excited. It's a very different level from what Miguel and Pierce are feeling.

Amelia: "THIS is it!"

Miguel: "..what?"

Amelia: "This is what we were looking for!"

Amelia waves her hands out, and looks around the cabin. She smiles like it's home to her.

Miguel: "This? This cabin?"

Miguel's still unsure, it seems. Pierce feels about the same way.

Pierce: "Why this cabin, Amelia?"

Amelia just laughs.

Amelia: "Oh well.. not really this cabin exactly. I just wanted to find a place far enough away from civilization."

Pierce: "..What?"

But as Miguel and Pierce's confusion turns to panic, they don't feel it for much longer.
