I hear screeching and a bang, an incredibly loud one.

I feel a car smash into us from behind pushing us across the road.

I try to breath, after getting the wind knocked out of me.

Looking myself over for injuries I see nothing, my ears are ringing.

I look over to Maya who's awake and looks fine.

I carefully take off my headphones

"Maya, are you ok?"

Silence

"Maya!" I say loudly

Nothing.

**Maya's POV**
My ears are ringing, I can't hear what's going on, that's not good.

Carina's fine, I look out trying to assess what's going on outside the car.

The lady who crashed into us is on the phone. There's more cars that crashed, some people yelling at each other.

I feel Carina's hand tug on mine and I look over to see her mouth moving, but I can't tell what she's saying.

She gets out of the car and cones around to my side, and pulls me out, we sit on the curb.

She looks me over again concerned, I attempt to say in what I hope is an acceptable volume "Can't hear"

She looks confused for a sec, then realizes what I meant. She reaches her hand over near my head and does something with it. She looks over to me watching my reaction and frowns. Was I supposed to react?

I look around the street and see a dude limping and holding his stomach, I get up to help him tugging Carina along.

We get to the guy and Carina says something, I see him lay down as she looks over his stomach.

I realize, I can't help here, I can't hear his complaints, I can't hear what Carina's saying. I look around for somewhere I can help and my eyes fall on a car with a woman and a carseat in the back. I tap her shoulder and point to the car, she nods quickly turning back to the dude.

(This whole thing with the lady and the toddler is hard as hell to follow, it doesn't even make sense)

I walk towards them seeing the woman blankly staring ahead. Reaching the car I look in the back seat and see what looks like a crying two-year old sitting in the backseat unharmed.

I open the door and tug the woman onto the sidewalk and then retrieving the crying toddler, this is one moment I'm fine without hearing. I hand the toddler over to the woman

Looking over the street, I see a kid looking around the street with blood on his shirt, he's tapping his phone (wtf why is he so calm?).

I go over to him, as soon as I reach him he says something to me, I gesture to his phone and wait for a second before taking it, I type in the notes "I can't hear anything, is that your blood?" he looks down and reads it, typing back "Yes, but it's from the nose bleed I got from the airbag"

Grabbing the phone, I ask "Where are your parents?" he looks around for a second and points to the limping dude, who's still lying down while Carina does something to his arm.

I bring him over to the lady and her toddler and leave him there (no explanation?), I see the 19 truck and aid car pull up and they get out. I run closer, seeing Miller, Jack, Vic, and Warren, reaching them. I grab Warren and pull him over to where limping dude is.

I see him saying something out of the corner of my eye but then he looks over at limping dude and runs over with his medical bag. Most of the people (How many people were there?!) had already gotten out and been checked out by Carina, I don't know why the team was called.

They load limping dude into the aid car with his kid and then pull me in too. They shut the door before I can protest. I make the phone sign to Jack who pulls out his phone and hands it to me. I type out "Why am I in here? it's already overcrowded" (gotta admit, that's pretty in character) he looks at me like i'm insane.

"Maya, you can't hear, Carina said she was literally yelling at you and you couldn't hear her. You are going to the hospital." that takes a second to type out. Crap, I probably should be able to hear by now.

I sit peacefully (peacefully? shouldn't you be alarmed that you can't hear crap?) while Jack reassures the kid that his dad is fine. We pull up to the hospital and limping dude and his kid are loaded out, Jack pushes me out with them and gets out.
