final chapter

**Carina's POV**

I feel Maya tap my shoulder and look back to see her almost crying, I get up and hug her trying to put as much comfort into the gesture as I possibly can. Carefully tipping us onto the couch I hold her rocking back and forth lightly

Waiting until the tears have slowed to whimpers I pick her up and move us to bed. Opening a google doc I type

"How are you?"

"As good as I can be"

"This probably isn't the best way to communicate"

"It's not."

We sit for a while, finally I type

"You should turn your phone on vibrate"

She starts hysterically laughing after a bit she calms down she types

"That's what you have to say? I mean, helpful advice but there are better things to talk about"

"Like?"

"Jack knows sign language, we should probably learn"

"That might be a good idea"

"Did you ever text Andy and Meredith to let them know what happened? And where did my phone end up?"

"I should probably do that, I grabbed our phones and put them on the counter"

We get up, going over to the counter. I look and see a message from Andy.

Maya turns her phone towards me and I see messages from Andy, Vic, Ben, Travis, and Dean.

A- The guys told me what happened, you two good?

C- All good besides Maya's hearing. Rude Doctor said it's not going to get much better

A- Rude? How's Maya taking it?

C- Doctor told us like she was telling us the weather. She's taking it as well as expected

I walk over to the couch laying on it, I stare up at the ceiling listening to the sound phones make when you type.

The typing stops and I hear Maya walk over, she lays almost on top of me because there's no room.

I reach for my phone and open google, typing in "Dr. Alice Ray" I see nothing. No results.

I text Andrea

C- What do you know about a Dr. Alice Ray?

**AUTHORS NOTE**

Hey guys, hope someone is reading this. This is the final chapter, the story hasn't been good, but considering there's really no other Maya and Carina agere fics it's better than nothing.

After this chapter Alice Ray was supposed to be discovered as part of the child trafficking ring, which would hopefully advance Andrew's story enough that we would be up to the 2021 storyline. Later in the story i would try to introduce Kai, i'm not sure what their role would be, but I think it would be cool to have them care for Amelia. There would probably be some trouble with Meredith's kids finding out, but nothing much. If i had to rewrite this story i would make it a lot longer, bring in a therapist for maya, because its beyond wishful thinking that all of her trauma and issues would suddenly be gone.

I hope you enjoyed, and i'm sorry for not continuing.
