The warmth of Miss C's hug lingered with Kath for days, she never realised how touch deprived she was until that moment.

As for Miss C, she had to tell safeguarding about what Kath said, as she was in danger, however she'd heard no updates from them or Kath for days. Ever since Kath overshared, she's been terrified to go into school, as she knows safeguarding will know. She hates the idea of her mum finding out.

Kath finally logged into her emailed after 3 days.
2 unopened emailed from Miss C, she clicked open the first email:

Kathy,
I haven't heard from you for a while. Just checking in. Are you okay? You didn't come and see me today. I've let safeguarding know and they're currently figuring something out. You know i'm always here, and my office is open, and you know when my frees are. Please make sure you take care of you scars properly. And come and see me tomorrow.

"A kiss, she sent me a kiss" Kath murmured to herself. Clicking on the second email. This one was sent today.

Hey lovely Kath,
You haven't been in school for 4 days, I know it's hard, after what you told me. But please try and come in on Monday, we have music and i miss your face! I promise i'm not mad at you! I'm so glad you were comfortable enough to tell me. It makes me happy you can trust someone. I just want to make sure your safe, your mother isn't picking up any phone calls and safeguarding still haven't said anything.
Please please reply and have a good weekend love. Get some rest.

Sighing, Kath pressed the reply button, and started typing....
Hi.
Thank you so much for caring. No one's ever cared for me as much as you have. I'm fine. I promise, mums ignoring every call. I've been sleeping a lot, and only just logged into my email . I'm finding it so hard to get into school. I'm scared. I'm scared someone might find out and the bulling get worse. I just wish people stopped.
Ever since your hug i realised how i never get hugs and it hurts.
I'll try and come in on Monday. If i don't i promise i'll email you.

Not even two minutes later *Ding* Kath looks up at her laptop

KATH!
I'm so so glad you're safe and okay. I promise you this is between safeguarding, you and i, i just spoke to them and they may have to contact your mum. If you're ok with that. No one else will find out! And about your hug- it's ok, i shouldn't hug you often but if you really need one. I'm here. You know my office is safe. Please email me Monday morning if you can't get up and get into school. I'm in early on Mondays. You know that anyway! Have you got any plans for the weekend? If not you could go on a walk? Or practice your instruments. You're getting better. Also you can sit with me at lunch on Monday, i don't have any meetings and i'd love a catch-up :)

Again, Thank you so much for caring miss. I've never felt so happy to have someone actually care for me since my dad left. You're so so nice. I have a band tomorrow morning but apart from that nothing. I'll try and get out, for you. I promise. And yes i'll see you at lunch, ofc, no one will notice i'm gone anyway. Doesn't make a difference to their lives.
