Chapter 12: Dinner Party Disaster

It was the night of the Engagement Dinner Party for Isabela, some of the townspeople including Annie's family, Miss Ines. And they are in formal clothes and as more people are coming. Mirabel, Leba and their father Agustin moves Dolores unconscious body on a bench as Agustin whisper to his children, "Remember, we say NOTHING! No one has to know!" They nod as Agustin went downstairs, Mirabel and Leba went to the nursery room.

Mirabel look at Leba, "Look, we're gonna continue this after the night is over! Right now, I need to take a bath and get dress.", "Sure thing, I'll get ready as well." Leba nod as Mirabel takes her formal clothes and went to the bathroom to get clean. When she left, Leba left out a frustration, "Aaah!!! My secret is out of the bag!! First Mirabel, then Pa and now  Dolores!! Who knows when everyone know my secret!! WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO?-" But then he accidentally knocks off a wooden box which it spills out tons of papers, he quickly gather them as he groan. "Great, I gotten myself into a even more mess and-" 

He stops to realizes that  the papers has well drawn artwork, "Oh, It my old artworks. Back when I was young. I remember the time that when I saw the early morning of the sunrise on the day of my Mama's and her siblings birthday. And that Sunrise has inspire me to  be creative, so creative that I drew so good!! When it was present time, Ma, Tia Pepa and Tio Bruno were impress even Abuela." He thoughted as he look more at the Artworks, but in most of them are Mirabel and Abuela getting together along showing smiles on their faces. He thought as he recognize it. "Theses are the good memories when Mirabel and Abuela had a boldly relationship."

*FLASHBACK* (Music back ground: Memories of a Sound- BELLE 2022)

 In the past, Mirabel and Abuela were playing each other as they play soccer in front of the Casita and Mirabel was winning (Only for Abuela, letting her granddaughter to win), They dances together as the music play. Another time when they were playing hide n seek with Leba, Luisa, and Camilo and Dolores. Yet, Dolores manages to find them with her super-hearing gift. 

Another time when Mirabel is playfully chasing Abuela as they go up hill the street, only for Mirabel trip and scratch her knee. She begin to cry in pain as Abuela who is worried  runs to her and take her to the Casita, where Julieta sees her daughter's scratch knee and started to make an Aprea. While she is cooking, Abuela calms down the crying Mirabel with a song 'Dos Orugutias' it calm her down as Abuela kiss her in the forehead  and Mirabel ate the Aprea which it heals her knee. During nighttime, where Abuela read a bedtime story to Mirabel; in which both are asleep." During the Day of the Little Candle, Abuela helps Mirabel as she carry her so she can see the ceremony.  

The two were having the most loving Grandmother and Granddaughter moment in Mirabel's life,  but those moments will be gone when it's Mirabel's Gift Ceremony and after that sad moment. Her relationship with Abuela became hard, after the ceremony Mirabel made a picture a butterfly and shows it to Abuela. 

In which she replies with a sort of a happy look, but when Isabella came in with a Large flower crown. Abuela praise her, for her blessing gift as she hugs her. Mirabel felt a bit left out as Abuela take Isabella to the rest of the family and they all cheered but except for Leba who feel bad for his older sister who is looking very sad at the picture that she drew. And when Mirabel cried after she scratch her knee again, Leba call out for Abuela's help but instead she call their mother to get Mirabel as she went to her room.  It let Leba upset, when it was bedtime Mirabel ask her Abuela to read her favorite bedtime story. She decline by saying that she's too tired and Mirabel felt a bit sad,

*FLASHBACK ENDED* (Music back-ground ended)

As Leba is distracted by his Artwork, Mirabel came to the room and she look refreshing and happy. But when she see Leba looking at the old artworks of her and Abuela. "Back then you were a talent artist and creative person, you first began drawing, then you began writing stories and then making wooden carves figures." Mirabel smile as well for Leba who explained, "Actually I tried to do wood carven after my drawing thing. But when I only cut once on my thumb!". Mirabel raise her eyebrow, "ONE? You cut ALL of your fingers! you nearly scary mom to death!" Leba scoffed "Why would she be dead? She can heal herself, she has healing power!"
