And with these consecutive thoughts being shoved to the back of his mind yet again, he lead the clueless h/c haired woman back to the castle.

When they finally made it back to the castle, they were greeted with a panicking Evaline. They immediately broke out running towards the woman.

When Evaline saw the two running towards her, she calmed down but she immediately got angry. Y/N and Jenken, seeing the anger etched on her [Evaline] face, started to slow down to walking.

Both wanting to turn around, not face the brown haired woman's scolding, but decided against it as they made their way to her.

"I said to be back by sunset, not midnight!" She whisper-shouted at the two. It wasn't literally midnight, but it was about half a hour after sunset. But if anyone knew Evaline, they would know that she loved to exaggerate.

"We know, and we're very sorry. I wanted to show Y/N the perfect place to eat, but then I lost track of time." Jenken said trying to get Evaline's harsh gaze from you to him. But you weren't just gonna let your best friend take all the blame.

"No, it's not just his fault, it's also mine. I should've known not to go, but I let my hunger rule me, and followed him." You said making Evaline look back at you.

Jenken made an attempt to say something else but you quickly put your hand on top of his mouth to prevent that.

"*sigh*, just make sure that it doesn't happen again. Now quickly get inside. It is 19:30, which means we only have 30 minutes until dinner is to begin, and you, Y/N, have to get ready." She [Evaline] said letting them off the hook, making them sigh in relief.

Y/N and Evaline quickly rushed inside to Y/N's room to get her ready, leaving Jenken and the cold bread and cheese alone.

Once Y/N got ready, she and Evaline made their way towards the dining room. Luckily it didn't take long for the princess to get ready so they had an extra 10 minutes before dinner officially commence.

It took them 5 minutes to make their way to the room, where the Queen and her personal maid were conversing while patiently waiting for the others.

Not know who had walked in, the Queen tensed up but the relaxed as her eyes met e/c eyes and not vibrant yet dull green ones.

As a sigh of relief left her brown lips, she began to speak, "How wonderful it is that you both made it before the king yet again." She said in a calm manner.

"Indeed it is." Y/N said while walking towards the long wooden table that was covered by a white and gold cloth. Once seated, she [Y/N] motioned Evaline to stand in the corner of the room with the other maid before the King comes in.
