"Percival please leave Connor out of this." You looked at your ex-husband with caution as he held your son in a chokehold.

"But love he's my son too shouldn't I be able to come to visit him once in a while?" Murnau said with a sickening grin while squeezing Connor's neck much tighter than before.

You carefully walked closer to Murnau while maintaining eye contact.

You were forced to marry Murnau as soon as you turned eighteen to help maintain your family's reputation much to your dissatisfaction. Your mother always hated how different you were, always being able to turn into a bird even though not being able to control it at some time. Your father on the other hand wanted a son but instead got a uselessly strange daughter. They wanted to get rid of you as quickly as possible while also benefiting themselves.

Not soon after you got married to Murnau you got pregnant with his child unwillingly. You made a promise to yourself to protect your child from the horror of the world and not treat it like how your parents had treated you since young.

A few months after you have given birth to your beloved son whoms name has been chosen as Connor, you decided to run away with Connor and leave everything behind in hopes of getting as far from everyone as possible.

You slowly crept out from under the covers as soon as Murnau fell asleep and cautiously walked towards the cradle where Connor lay quietly asleep. You picked him up carefully making sure not to wake him up and quietly made your way downstairs and left through the backdoor from where you ran quickly away not sparing a glance behind you failing to notice an Avocet perched upon a tree watching your every move.

"What's a young lady like you doing here?" You slowly looked up from the bench you were laying on to see a woman who looked like she had just come from a meeting out west.

"My name's Velyana and what's your name girl?" You clutched your son closer to you who was also looking at the woman curiously.

"I-I'm Y/n" You responded to her as she knelt in front of you.

"See that wasn't too hard was it? But let's forget about the introductions." Velyana reached into her shirt and pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to you.

"As you already know, you aren't particularly normal. And yes you must be very confused and scared by why I am talking to you, but I'm here to take you to Pennsylvania and help and teach you about your peculiarity. All you have to do is take my hand and trust me on this. The paper I gave you is from Ms. Advocet, she's just like you and me and can turn into specific types of birds. So why don't we stop wasting time and get some shit done? " You looked at Velyana confusingly as you tried to process all that was explained.

You thought that you had nothing to lose except for your son who is still looking at both of you, he then reached his hands towards Velyana seeming to signal to want to be held by her. You looked at your son and then towards her and decides that if your son seems to trust her you should too. You nodded your head slowly and decided to go with her. After all, she seemed trustable.
