Mon Bel Oiseau

Chapter 3

Alma held out her hand and you took it and shook it. She has a firm grip and didn't let go for a few seconds then let go.

"Where are my manners, come inside!" She ushered you and your children into the house before closing the doors.

"Children come to the living room we have guests!" She yelled out. 

You motioned your children to get in a line while you stood at the end with Amelia in your arms.

Soon there were scattering from upstairs and you saw children giddly run down the stairs to Alma. You saw them move next to Alma curiously looking at the strangers in their living room.

Alma was about to speak before a young boy and girl run down the stairs nearly tripping onto each other. Alma glared at them and told them to hurry up and get over here while some of the kids snickered.

"Olive, Enoch can you give our guests a tour around the loop while I speak with Mrs. Cardinal?" Olive nodded quickly while Enoch groaned and started to lead the children's out to the backyard. The rest of the children looked at you curiously as you put down Amelia and smiled at them. 

You felt two pairs of arms on your legs as you tried to walk to the side. Looking down you saw  twins hugging your legs tightly and looking up at you.

You bent down and smiled at the twins as they let go of your legs and latched onto your arms dragging you onto the floor.

You fell with a grunt as the twins fell onto you while still clutching onto your arms.

"Twins this isn't how we treat our guests, let Ms. Cardinal go this instance." Ms. Peregrine scolded.

"Alma it is quite alright there is no need for such sterness you smiled up at her." You looked back down at the twins and tried to reach into your skirt pocket and pulled out two dandelions and handed then to the twins. They took the flower and hugged you before running off to the rest of the group.

"I am sorry about the twins, they often get attached to people they like." Alma apologized as she held out her hand to help you up.

You smiled and accepted her offer as she helped you up.

"I presume that Velyana has gave you the loop coordinates?" She asked as you nodded. You pulled out the crumbled piece of paper from your bra and handed it to Alma as she took it and looked at it.

"I am sorry if this arrival is quite sudden, Velyana just notified us the day before we started packing to get here. It was very rushed to start with and we ran into some inconveniences on our way here which should explain why we are late." You explained as you took the paper and slipped it back into your bra.

"It is fine, just remember to be on time since I don't like latenesses." She smiled at you and took your hand.

"Now come along I shall give you a tour while the children's are introducing each other and giving each other a tour." Alma checked her watch before putting it into her pocket and leading you upstairs not bothering to let go of your hand.
