Chapter 9

Hayden's POV

The next morning I got in my car and left for school after saying goodbye to Kaily. She didn't want me to go, she thought that her parents would come after me. To be honest, it was a concern of mine but not my biggest. I was freaked about her shifting while I was at work. It was painful and miserable and I promised her I would be there when she did. I instructed Jayce to call me immediately at the slightest sign she would and he agreed with a laugh, muttering something about me being completely and utterly whipped.

I walked into my classroom to begin some grading when I heard the door open and shut with a slam. There stood Kaily's parents. Apparently they didn't stay in jail to long. They must have A. made bail or B. they knew people in very very high places. I just shook my head, wasn't like it mattered much to me. We werewolves didn't really play by the laws standards either so I couldn't judge.

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Hollingsworth. What can I do for you guys? Any word from Kaily, yet?"

"I don't know, you tell us?" Mr. Hollingsworth snapped.

"It's Bill, right?" He nodded. "Why would I know anything on the whereabouts of your eighteen year old daughter? It wouldn't exactly be socially acceptable, a teacher having relations like that with a student, would it? I love my job and personally don't want to lose it."

"Yes, but if she were your, oh I don't know, mate? I'm sure you'd make an exception, correct?" Mrs. Hollingsworth spat.

"Mate, ma'am?" Crap...

"Don't play dumb with us boy, we know what you are."

"Excuse me?" I acted confused. Good thing I was a good actor. It was my hidden talent growing up.

"You're a werewolf. Admit it!" They screamed in unison.

"I think you people need some mental help...you're talking crazy! I know some good facilities if you'd like. I dated a girl once who was a doctor at one. Granted it didn't work out, she was a little weird, but hey her hospital was top notch I hear. Here's her number." I said politely, I wrote down Stella's, an old friend and wolf who we sent hunters to, number on a post-it note and handed it to them. "She's a great psychologist." They looked at me like I'd grown two heads.

"We know you're a werewolf and our daughter is your mate. You live out in the woods for crying out loud!" Squealed Mrs. Hollingsworth.

"Yes, I have a cabin in the woods. I like the wild life and I'm an avid hunter. Deer and raccoon being my favorite, your woods have a lot of both."

"NO! You turn into a big black wolf."

"Ummm, why don't I call Principal Stone. I'm sure he could help, he's got more experience then me with parents." I dialed Eric's number and he came down with two people in white coats.

"Well, I can't say I'm surprised." The two people grabbed the Hollingsworths and took them away.

"I guess I'll see you guys around..." I chuckled. This was the topper on the cake. Just then my class came in. I smiled at them all and they grinned back. "Sorry, I haven't been here all that much class. How are you all doing?"

"Good." They answered in unison.

"Good to hear. Projects? They are due tomorrow."

"We could use this period to work."

"Consider it a work period. As long as everyone is working."

"Yes, sir." I nodded and sat at my desk.
